Overall just excellent
I’ve reviewed numerous bread maker reviews all over the internet and after many hours of watching what users had to say, I decided on the cuisinart compact bread machine. I am just baking bread for myself so I did not need a 3lbs loaf machine. My eyes were on the Zujirushi 1lbs mini but it is double the price of the cuisinart compact. Now; the cuisinart compact is pretty small and I was happily surprised to actually see it on my very limited counter space. Stainless still housing makes it look very professional. Baking; very easy to use functions and not one problem with any recipe. Wow. I was more than impressed. Absolutely. Makes fantastic 1lbs loaves but is suited for all 1, 1.5 and 2 lbs loaves. I tried all sides and all came out fantastic! I have to say that the 1.5 and 2 lbs loaves were not much different in size. Nit sure why but I’ve tried a few and fir me, I just need a 1 or 1.5lbs anyway so I wasn’t worried about that at all but realized that may be you’ll save some ingredients by just going for the 1.5lbs instead of a 2lbs recipe. The pan is not ceramic coated but I can live with that. The kneading paddle never got stuck inside the bottom of my bread, ever but always stayed stuck inside the pan because of a tiny dough amount going underneath it while backing, ergo keeping it right there in place. To me it was ok but you have to soak and wiggle this paddle a but to get it off after baking. Takes 10 seconds but I thought I have to mention it. Tye kneading noise is not bad at all. Definitely lower than other bread machines I’ve been around but yes you will hear it. The beeping to remind you to add your nuts ir raisins or whatever your recipe requires is very loud and long. Yep. It is. Loud and long but again, I live in a studio so I hear everything right by me, lol. OVERALL; this machine gets a 9.5 out of 10 from me and believe me, I am picky. I feel like baking bread every day because I am so impressed by this machine but of course I can’t eat a loaf every day. So what do I do? I bake for my neighbors, too! Most appreciate a fresh and no preservative added loaf of bread. The price of this machine is well worth it for me but again; i am picky and i love good quality. If you’d love to get one of these but simply can not or want nit pay the price, here is a last advise from a very picky researcher, me; you could try the Vevor up to 2lbs bread machine for about $76 (look around) and that machine too is just great except it has no stainless steel housing. Hint hint. I do not know how long this other one would last you, though. - Sorry cuisinart but it’s an honest review here and again - Cuisinart is just a great, quality brand! Period. If you are looking for quality and great results, cuisinart compact bread machine is an excellent choice!

Happy with it, family even happier!
I waited a long time before writing this review because I wanted to make sure I could say something beyond the honeymoon stage. Now I'm finally ready to do so. This machine has turned out to be a blessing. Sure, it has its quirks like any other automatic appliance. For instance, the suction cups that should secure it to a counter surface aren't that strong (more on that later), but at least it does what it offers. Now, I need to inform you that while the basic white bread process renders the most delicious bread on earth, the whole wheat was a disaster. I will take responsibility for it, because machines aren't smart enough to fail on their own. I liked that I can add stuff or replace it and the machine keeps on going (I learned to use oil instead of butter, real milk instead of powdered milk, and to add raisins or cranberries to my white bread). Good things: timer reliability, very good dough kneading, crust baking, ease to prepare bread and to remove loaf at the end. Not too satisfactory (but then, this may be because of other factors): whole wheat bread was a disaster, and so was trying to make a baguette dough. It just didn't rise, but I'm taking responsibility because I must have made a mistake. Now, the funny story (back to the suction cups): I got used to set up the machine at 10 or 11 o'clock the night before to wake up to freshly baked bread. This machine is good at it. However, when it's in the kneading cycle it almost dances... and the last time I left it to work overnight, it danced... and fell to the floor. Disaster: the dough was on the floor (salvageable), and the machine lost its lid (broken hinge). Here's the nice part: I contacted the manufacturer. They requested that I sent them a photo of the damaged machine. I did, and their reply was to offer me a new one, free of charge, as a courtesy—yet, with the severe admonition that I should never leave the machine unattended. Why make it programmable then? In any case, if the machine performance was quite satisfactory and the bread was loved by my whole family, now I can add a word about Cuisinart: they really stand by their product. The machine was so tough that even with a broken hinge it still made good bread! Needless to say, I'm continuing using this machine and can recommend it because of its ease of use, bread quality (at least the white bread) and good results.

Tasty Easy Bread
Excellent Beginner Bread Making Machine!! Evenly bakes the bread loaf. Clear instructions. My 7 year old grandson and his mom and I mixed ingredients together our first French bread loaf using the manual guide including a recipe inside. We picked the Ultra fast bake selection . Which is 2 hours instead of the 3-4 hours of baking time for a 2 lb loaf. Texture of bread is very good. We didn’t add any fancy ingredients this time . The second loaf we mixed in fresh artichoke and diced garlic cloves . While the bread is baking it fills our house with amazing bakery quality aroma lol. Definitely a great value for this high quality bread making machine. I think Cuisine Art products are reliable and consistent for performance. I highly recommend buying this model. It’s compact but really produces fantastic bread. Small loaves .My daughter says she can bake several different flavor loaves all week . Still have plenty all together for toast or sandwiches. We tried our first loaf slices with butter and we all agreed it’s an amazing bread machine!!

Success At Last
I have finally produced my first loaf of bread after several failed attempts and I blame the owners manual, which is otherwise very complete and detailed. We just had toast this morning made from a loaf using the Basic White Bread recipe in the instruction booklet and it was quite good. It was unlike my previous attempts, which didn't rise properly and actually more or less collapsed into an unappealing, dense mass. It seemed to me, a retired professional baker, that the temp wasn't correct and I was concerned. The problem was that I took the instruction booklet at its word. On page 5, the manual states that "If no crust color is selected, the unit will automatically default to dark crust." No, it won't, not on my machine. On my previous attempts, I did not select a crust color and what I got was a mess. Yesterday, I purposely selected dark crust and ended up with a very nice loaf of white bread, perfect for toast or a sandwich, or better yet, some butter while still warm from the machine. We now have high hopes and intend to put this machine through its paces, including pizza dough and blueberry-lime jam. I will follow up this review in the future. The machine itself is handsome, compact, well designed and appears to be well made. Controls are straightforward and simple and clean-up is a breeze. Care must be taken when adding ingredients to the mixing vessel, but that is explained very well in the instruction booklet. It took a little over 3 hours running time to bake my white bread, but once you've mixed the ingredients it's a completely hands-off experience if you like, and it produces very little heat in the kitchen. We live in the tropics and very much appreciate that. Another excellent feature worth mentioning is that once the baking cycle is complete, the machine automatically switches to Keep Warm mode. Quite handy for the forgetful home baker. I only gave this 4 stars because of the problem with the instruction booklet. I think I would now give it a 4.5. If it proves to be durable, it's an excellent value for the money.

Compact but mighty!
I'll cut to the chase and tell you that if you are looking for a bread machine that with make any kind of bread (so long as it's not larger than 2lbs), then this bread machine is my go to choice. From the 12 menu options you're able to make pretty much any kind of bread loaf, dough, or jam and it even comes with a nifty booklet detailing a wide range of recipes to get you started! For me, I always put the liquids first, then the flour, then the salt on top and it's never let me down. I really love making pizza dough with the dough setting, making pizza night something that went from almost impossible unless I prepped fr it the night before to something I can set and forget it at the beginning of the day! The display is clear and easy to read, displays the current mode and the buttons allow for easy cycling between the different modes. It also beeps when it's time to add in things you'd like to mix into the dough or when the bread machine is done but I have had no issues at all just adding the extra ingredients at the beginning. I would recommend following the directions, but the only thing you can waste are your ingredients and your time. Canceling a cycle is easy too, holding down the start / stop button. I love how it lights up, making it easy to see if you've turned the lights off and the window looking in lets me view what's going on without having to open the machine while it's running. The bread itself always comes out hot, dough always comes out slightly warm. It's crisp, easiy to cut, and the dough paddle is easy to remove even without the included hook. The pan does get hot when a cycle finishes, but I've never had to use gloves when handling the pan. I again, would recommend you handle it with caution as I imagine you could probably get burned easily if you're not careful. The loafs basically slide out with ease, I've never had to struggle to shake out a loaf of bread and dough when the ingredients are properly measured out can easily be removed with no trouble what so ever. I would say I wish that it was slightly larger, and if placed on an uneven surface or on a even surface with a heavy dough you'll have the machine shake around but I've never had an issue with it being knocked around. I do also wish there was a dedicated spot for the dough hook, because I have already lost mine but I'm still able to use the bread machine perfectly fine without it. The texture for the variety of breads are always super nice, everything being tasty that I've tried from the booklet. This is a very reliable bread machine, never letting me down once and for the money I would recommend this for anyone who is interested in making loafs of bread but who may not have the techincal skill or time to do so by hand. If you are someone who can do bread by hand, it would be a nice shortcut to get the dough started for you so even with experienced baikers I think it would be a helpful tool and for the money it's very valuable. I'll update this again once I make jam to see how that goes following the directions in the included booklet but for now I would again highly recommend it.

I Love This!
This is a phenomenal bread, machine! It makes great sourdough bread, and many other types of breads. I hear from ‘experts’ that this is the bread machine to purchase for consistent high-quality bread. There is only one problem with it; it has a computerized screen that is super sensitive. It is much more sensitive than touching your cell phone. So after you program the bread on the right cycle (sourdough…), the weight/size loaf, the right color, then walk away and don’t go near it again. Because if you hit it somewhere midway, you might be throwing out that loaf…. But that’s really the only problem with it. So I consider this phenomenal. You might read that some people have a problem with getting the stirring rod out, after the bread is done. As sometimes it feels stuck. They do provide a hook to try to remove it with. Helpful hint that works every time: I put olive oil into a dropper. Then before I’m going to use the bread machine, I will grease the hole of the stirring rod in the post where the stirring rod will sit with olive oil, making sure that that inner diameter if you will is totally coated, and that the base where the stirring rod is going to sit is totally coated. Then when your bread is done, the stirring rod should come off fairly easy, if it doesn’t, you just put the whole pan in stirring rod into some warm soapy, water, and let it soak, and it will come up. Now, very important: get one of those little brushes that you use for the stainless steel straws and clean the inside of the stirring rod hole, and the pole that it sits on. Make sure that pole that it sits on is smooth. I found that the bread recipes in the book might not have been as good as some that I found on YouTube; for me, it’s trial and error, as factors like, how old my sourdough starter is will dictate how much wheat gluten and active yeast I’m using. I believe they’re 17 different bread settings, and one of them is totally variable meaning you get to plug-in your times that you want. Which now makes it totally customizable as far as what you can do with this bread machine. There is a time delay on it; in case you wanna wake up to fresh bread. And as soon as your bread is done, it will swap over to a warm cycle that will last an hour. Cleaning it has been a piece of cake. Sorry this was so long, but this has been the greatest most exciting thing I’ve had in my kitchen in decades. I actually hate cooking. But this bread machine has actually been very fun.

Avoid at all cost!!! Terrible!
I am beyond disappointed in this bread maker. In fact, I am downright angry about it. For 18 years, my Panasonic bread maker produced delicious loaves of bread of every type - hundreds of loaves. But one day it finally ran out of life, and I was terribly sad to learn that Panasonic bread makers were no longer available. Oh, well - time for a new one. Enter this Cuisinart. I had high hopes, having read so many good reviews here on Amazon and knowing the reputation of the Cuisinart name. Unfortunately, I failed to read the bad reviews - many of them written in recent months. The first thing I noticed upon opening the box was how small and lightweight the machine was. I soon discovered that one reason for the light weight was that the loaf pan was extremely thin and light, weighing probably a third of what my Panasonic weighed. As I prepared my first recipe, I wondered how that very thin pan would affect the baking process. I was soon to find out… I carefully read the instruction manual and then filled the pan with my favorite wheat bread ingredients and then chose the correct settings. Immediately, the machine to mix the dough. But… although the paddle spun the ingredients around but it was obvious that the mixture wasn’t being kneaded properly. I thought that perhaps as the program continued its steps, the kneading would get better. It didn’t. The bread was poorly mixed, rose very little, and ended up baking into a dense, dry brick. The next day I proofed a tablespoon of my yeast to make sure it was good (it was), so I went ahead and prepared another recipe and placed it in the machine. I watched the machine “mix” the dough, but it barely even mixed the ingredients together before it began to simply spin the dough around without any kneading whatsoever. I let the machine play out its program, though, because what good is a machine that you have to help do its job? Once again, it produced an inedible loaf of “bread” (more like a brick than a bread, though). The two loaves of “bread” produced by this machine weighed 1.25 pounds and measured 4.5” x 4.5” x 4.5”. That’s right - a 4.5” cube for a 1.5 pound loaf of “bread.” I immediately returned the machine for a refund, and I thank Amazon for making returns like these an easy process. I will think twice before ever purchasing anything produced by Cuisinart again. And I’ll be searching for a Panasonic bread maker in my local thrift stores. If you’ve read this far and are still considering this machine, let me throw out a couple of thoughts. First - the sides of the loaf pan are coated with some sort of nonstick coating that is SO slick that I wonder whether that causes a problem for the dough during the rising stage. I cannot imagine how the dough can rise and STAY inflated with that incredibly slick surface. Second - there is no heating of the chamber during the rising stage. My old Panasonic was so heavy and well-insulated that room temperature would not really affect it very much. The heat created by the mixing process itself was sufficient to keep the dough at a good temperature, so even in our air conditioned home, the dough rose perfectly. Third - because the loaf pan is extremely thin and lightweight, heat from the baking process might need to be lower than that of my old machine. This is just a guess, but it seems like that would make sense. If so, this might affect the final result. At any rate, it was incredibly disappointing. Never again, Cuisinart. You have lost a customer.

Affordable and still has many options.
They should tell you that when you take it apart to wash it before using it, you will find a bread-like ring of dough or sealer under the paddle. I thought I received a used one until I Googled it. It doesn't come with a manual. I made my first basic loaf today. The machine was slightly noisy as it was right behind me and did not move around on the heat-resistant pad. The beeps were audible for the time to add ingredients and to remove the paddle, if I was in the same room. The loaf was tall, and the perfect color for me on medium darkness. It fell out of the pan and was good plain and when toasted. This was just the first use, but so far I'm happy with it.

I love my breadmaker
This is definitely worth the money. This little machine makes amazing bread because I can't. I've had it for months now before doing a review because I wanted to really give an honest opinion about it. It's compact. Easy to clean and store. Doesn't take up much room on the counter. it's a little on the noisey side but I sill love it. It's easy to use. As long as you use quality ingredients you will always have great bread/ dough. I would definitely pass on the recipes that are included with it. Just go to Pinterest or any other site for bread maker recipes.

Me encantó! Y súper sencillo
Me encantó! 100% recomendables!!
