Easy installation picture quality is great
Easy to install and set up we had bought 4 and installed and set up in about an hour . Camera quality is much better than the old models and small size is great they are compact and easily moved if needed. For just over 100 dollars well worth the money for a little security. Visibility is really good and the app is easily used and can change settings quickly if needed . Will see over the next few months how we Well they continue to work . And the subscription is much more affordable than most cameras. They are also magnetic which I did use on the inside cameras but not sure if they are strong enough to hold outside so we opted to screw it to the house outside rather then using magnets. Over all happy with the purchase of the v3 model. Big improvement over the older models.

Fantastic Camera - Buy it
Buy it ! This camera at this price cannot be beaten. I have 3 other V3's and this new version is fantastic. Extra Plus is the Spotlight which can be turned on or off or to go on with motion. Set up took 1 minute. Crystal clear picture even on 2.5. The motion detection is fantastic. Using the SD card for storage. Buy it. Highly recommended

Easy to connect.
Love this security camera. Very easy to setup. The picture is very clear. And the price you cannot beat. We have only had it up and running for three days, but so far so good.

Very a Nice Camera For Home
Bought several of these for my mom. The picture is good quality and has night vision. A lot of extras like a spot light and alarm. You can talk and listen. Nice Value.

Overall good, but some descriptive trickery that I don't appreciate
Main thing, these are good quality cameras. Very small and compact, easily blends into its surroundings and not easy to pick out as a security cam. Picture quality is outstanding and feature set is unbelievable. So for what it's made for, it's a great get for the price. The description is a bit misleading though. Read through the specs and features and it sounds like you're getting all these features out of the box....INCORRECT. You get those features if you pay for a monthly cloud subscription. That is all well and good, but that should be in the descriptive copy, easy to find before purchase. Now, other negative reviews say that you can't record activity without paying....that is not true. You can if you use a micro SD card. Finding the recorded clips isn't straightforward though. When you get notified of movement and open the app, it shows the live view at top and a cascading list of alerts below. Tapping those events pulls up a still frame from the alert period and tapping the play button below that prompts you to subscribe. HOWEVER, you can back up to the main screen, tap the SD shortcut and get a list clips that correspond to those alert times and then play back the recorded video. That allows you very basic security features without subscribing. One big issue there is that there is a 5 minute cooldown period between alerts. Meaning if there is an alert at 10:00, the camera records 30 seconds or so of video, then it won’t alert again until 10:05 regardless of what happens in front of the camera. On the surface, I get that limitation, however I can also see where it could bite you…..a bird flies in front of the camera and alerts at 10:00, then some jackleg walks up and kicks your door down and steals your stuff at 10:02. Guess you’re out of luck. One other bit of info that isn’t given – this camera is billed as indoor/outdoor, which leads me to believe I can buy one, take it out of the box and mount it on the side of my house. Seems straightforward, but no…it comes with a cheap, cell phone type charge cable and wall plug and the first page of instructions says ‘for outdoor use you need xxxx outdoor power supply’….which of course is $20. So your $30 camera turns into a $50 camera if you want to use it outdoors. That’s fine, but say that in the description. I’ll keep these and use them….will just keep big SD cards in them so I can actually play back clips without paying extra. The app seems pretty feature rich (if you pay) and works well. No problems so far. One feature you do have access to is setting notifications and how sensitive the alert features are for movement and sound, so that’s a good thing. So for very basic security cameras, these work fine. Also, if you’re OK paying per month for features they’re very good. Otherwise you might keep looking.

Incredible value for what it does
Bought two Wyze cameras - this one and the Cam Pan V3. If you don't need the rotate this is a great choice - the streaming quality on this one is higher and it's got a light on it which I found surprisingly useful. The two-way communication is actually pretty awesome - for as small as it is the camera's mic pics up decent audio. I did find that if you're on the monitoring end and want to speak through the camera you should do so slowly and deliberately as it takes a half-second for the speaker on the camera to kick on and broadcast; it cuts you off a little so just make sure you enunciate. Night mode is neat but I never use it. I use this for on-demand monitoring rather than 24/7 security so I had to look up how to disable certain things (motion tracking boxes, automatic light/alarm, etc.) but all were, blessedly, able to be disabled. Other reviews said those settings sometimes mysteriously come back on but I haven't experienced it, but had this operational for only about 20 days now. Having had this installed for over two week I've had none of the problems others spoke about. App is surprisingly functional and stable. I wish there were a "refresh" button in it as I had to close it out and re-open a couple of times to catch up to a live feed, but other than that no big deal. I will say they REALLY like to push notifications, access to your device, and upsell their cloud service. You can always hit no, but the popups are recurrent - I've had several in the ~20 days of use so far, so likely every few days you'll be asked if you're *REALLY* sure you don't want to buy online storage. Cameras haven't disconnected at all. Again, had to restart the app a few times but they were never unavailable to me. Unless I got lucky with these units I'm guessing they ironed out the problems people were having and/or the issues folks experience are because the cameras are on the periphery of WiFi - these do take a lot of data and so a strong, consistent signal is necessary. If you're monitoring these remotely on cell signal, know you'll need a good 5G signal to get an uninterrupted live feed. If you're low on bars or busted down to LTE you'll get some chop, maybe serious chop, depending on how hairy your connection is. These are essentially like streaming Netflix so again strong, consistent data is key if you want a truly live monitor. All in all, for the price, I'm honestly blown away. They have to be making near-zero on the hardware and using cloud subscriptions to subsidize selling the units, which would explain the constant badgering to sign up. But in the end that just means I get a really serviceable entry level camera for the cost of a nice lunch.

Wyze newest cameras are failing. What is happening?
First, I use a wide variety of camera makes and models. However, years ago I discovered Wyze and their low cost and easy to use with good video (for the time) security cameras. I bought 12 of those over the next year of them first appearing, including the Pan an V1 versions. Note that every single one of these cams STILL work, even the ones outdoors (with the silicon protectors on them) and been running just fine till this day. However, once we hit v3 and v4, and the new Pan cameras, two of the pan cameras I just recently bought, they either failed at waterproofing (despite me making sure the rubber doors were secure and they were under the eaves to protect from direct rain) and one just died and took a SD card with it. This was a Pan cam in black. I replaced it with a v4 gray stationary camera, not even a month after using it it no longer will connect to ANY network no matter how close or distance. I have a dedicated network for my POE, other brands and Wyze on a high end router and extenders where needed. Then I bought two more white latest version of the Pan cameras to put on either side of my house garage door, and these had protective domes above them even though they are "waterproof". Let's name them G1 and G2 (which is what they are called). G1 is on the south of the door which faces West. G2 is North of the door still facing West so that they can cover by motion tracking (G1) and pan scanning (G2) as I get a LOT of deliveries. On the front of my house there are 6 Wyze cameras and one Amcrest (which never has failed in any manner). Right now only G2 out of all 6 front porch and garage Wyze cameras have stopped working or stopped connecting to any network even if I take them down and reset them and use a different network (I have 3 networks running through my property here). The Black Pan Cam that was on the SouthWest corner of the house (still the front) died after being filled with water despite sealed and not directly in the rain. G1 just has stopped connecting yet seems to be still "operating" on its own following around. Trust me I have tried different extenders, networks, and the next is high powered POE extenders that have a huge range but so far it won't connect to anything. G2 still works doing it's Panning job but as with ALL Wyze cameras your chance of actually keeping a connection and watching what is going on is IFFY at best. I replaced the SW Black Pan with a v4 stationary camera. A couple of months later it now no longer works or won't connect. A few feet east of it is a Wyze camera that is supposed be watching my parking area, it too has stopped working. I have another v4 on the front porch above the locking mailbox (which is secured to the side of the house) and it watches nothing but the front porch as shipments come in and I finally realized it TOO is now not working. What is going on? All the "newest" versions of Wyze cameras SUCK! They keep failing. I have one more pan (covered from rain) on the NE corner of my house watching my gate entry between my neighbor and my home. It stopped working. (sorry for the long post but it continues) Now note that ALL my old cameras but one (a first generation pan cam) are STILL WORKING. One in one of my buildings rock solid watching who enters the building. Another one above my Lab building door watching who is at that security door. A first generation PAN cam with a silicone cover and mounted on an older Pan Cam holder, under an eave is still, after ALL these years of it being out in the rain, snow, storms, tornados and the like WORKING JUST FINE! All the first generation Wyze cameras all still work even the ones I have stored in a box I pulled out and tested, no problems. I also pay a monthly fee for all my cameras to be on Wyze's "advanced software and AI stuff" subscription for all the cameras. Lot good it actually does! That will be turned off very soon, and 32 Wyze cameras including the old ones that still work, I will be dancing around a bonfire with them melting and posting it to YT. I have invested hundreds of dollars in new Wyze cameras because I liked their simplicity and decent video quality, and that they worked. But since Gen 3 nearly every camera is failing while Gen 1 and 2 are doing just fine. I wasted that money, plus the infrastructure to connect them all to the network expanding it (something I know how to do very well) and they all get solid signals. I have tested over and over again. Now I have at least 6 "new" and "improved" cams that are worthless. They can't even watch a rock sitting still 2 feet away without dying. Naturally Wyze doesn't have a great warranty that I am aware of and some now may be out of the warranty but since Amazon started really promoting Wyze and they got popular their quality has gone drastically down. I didn't want to spend thousands on high end cameras when I THOUGHT Wyze would work just fine, and even switching some of them to different networks (the ones that didn't physically fail) to take the load off thinking that might be it, well even a brand new high end router with long range and three satellites can't keep them connected if you can connect at all to them. So to all new customers I saw, "LOOK ELSEWHERE" for a decent camera cause you cannot depend on these cameras when you NEED them to work. I haven't heard from Wyze at all on the matter despite numerous emails. I would rather spend $300 to $800 per single camera KNOWING it's going to work rock steady and not fail anytime soon (AS IT"S CRITICAL FOR ME) than spend a few hundred on cheaper and cheaper lack of quality builds all because of "new tech" in them (which the high end cameras also have AND have better video quality and can recognize license plates). So it's in your hands now Wyze. I doubt you will do a thing because you sell in BULK, not quality anymore.

BEST SAMSUNG SMARTCAM+ REPLACEMENT
I have 5 of these so far in addition to 19 Blink Cams. The Wyze v4 is a great addition to the Amazon cams if you want 24/7 live coverage of a scene without counting on movement. Most likely you, as I do have an application for both types. The Wyze does not have discernable fish eye distortion, has very clear picture and is a low light cam bringing coverage to night time scenes. Recommend you pay extra for the 256 g on board storage sd in addition to the unlimited cloud plan. Once you try this camera you will want to get more.

A Smart Camera That Just Works — Even at -40°C
I’ve been a long-time Wyze user — currently running four cameras, a doorbell with wireless chime, a door lock, and a sprinkler controller. The Wyze Cam v4 (2.5K) is my newest addition, and it continues to prove why this brand has become my go-to for smart home security. Setup is quick and painless. From unboxing to being live on the app takes just minutes. One of the biggest reasons I prefer Wyze is that you don’t need a subscription to use its features. I record locally to an SD card, and it automatically overwrites when full — simple and efficient. Some users mention they couldn’t record without a subscription, but I suspect that’s a misunderstanding. I’ve never had that problem. Connectivity has been excellent. The only time we experience issues is when our internet itself is acting up, not the cameras. In the screen recording I attached, you can see our “Front Door” and “Front Yard” cameras. The v4 loads noticeably faster than the older Wyze models, though the older ones still perform well. (The garbage bin in front of the lens? Courtesy of my kids.) We switched from a Lorex system about five years ago, and the difference was night and day — literally. The colour night vision on the Wyze cameras is incredible compared to the old grayscale, washed-out footage from the Lorex units. When I transitioned away from the Lorex setup, we were even able to reuse the existing 24-volt wiring that was already run through the house. I stepped it down to 5 volts, and it powers the Wyze cameras perfectly. That saved a lot of work and extra cabling. While these cameras are IP-rated, I still recommend installing them out of direct weather. Ours are under the soffits and have survived -40°C winters without a hitch. The Wyze app offers plenty of customization options — remove watermarks, rotate the image 180° for upside-down mounting, record sound, set up automations, and more. It’s well worth exploring all the settings. We don’t have much crime where we live, so the cameras mostly capture funny moments — slips, trips, and the occasional driveway disaster. Still, I’ve shared footage with law enforcement before to help confirm false calls, which shows the value of having reliable recordings. Just make sure to keep your firmware up to date. It’s easy to do through the app and ensures stable performance. Rating: 5/5. Wyze continues to impress — great video quality, quick setup, reliable performance, and no subscription needed. A solid choice for anyone who wants affordable smart security that simply works. TL;DR: The Wyze Cam v4 delivers excellent 2.5K video, local SD recording, reliable connectivity, and colour night vision that blows older Lorex cameras out of the water. We’ve been using Wyze for five years now, powering ours off stepped-down 24-volt wiring — no issues, no subscriptions, just dependable performance year-round.

Wyze Keeps on Getting Better
Much improved clarity compared to previous and the spotlight not only provides light but as it is motion sensitive it acts as a deterrent. Clearly recorded an intruder at 4am and aided in his apprehension.
