Apple USB-C to Lightning Cable

Given Apple's reputation for high quality tech and accessories, I expected this cable to be top notch! Rest assured, I was correct. The cable is on the pricier side of some chargers out there, but it avoids that stress of a third party charger randomly cutting off. The cable length is long enough, there are longer options on the market, but this length is a sort of in-between of perfect size and long; perfect for attaching to wall plugs, extension leads and other USB-supported devices. The charging speed is fast, efficient, and is easy to use; the best part of the charger is perhaps how fast it charges - much better than third party chargers. When connected, it took roughly 30 minutes to bring my phone up to an acceptable charge, and there was no issue with connection or issues on that front. My only word of advice is to keep the charger straight, not bending or on an angle; this weakens the cable itself, and if done enough, can make you need to re-buy a charger. I bought a charger in June of 2025, I had bent it so much, that I needed to repurchase two months later. It is extremely durable though, and often bent back into shape when given time. If you don't tug on the wire, and unplug from the top or bottom, all will be fine! Just care for it!

I honestly don’t know how I lived with the shorter cable before this. Once you switch to the Apple 2m charging cable, there’s no going back. The extra length makes such a huge difference. Whether I’m on the couch, in bed, or working at my desk, I can use my phone comfortably while it charges. As expected from Apple, the quality is excellent: strong, durable, and charges fast without overheating. No more awkward stretching or sitting right next to the outlet. This is hands down the best charging cable I’ve used, and I won’t ever go back to the shorter version again.

I stay up later than the rest of my household and as a considerate sort of person, I switch to headphones if I'm watching TV or playing video games so as not to disturb anyone. I've recently purchased a pair of AirPod Max headphones which I connect to my Smart TV via bluetooth. Bluetooth creates an ever-so-slight delay which I don't notice when watching films or TV shows but I very much do notice when playing on my PS5. I find the slight lag between what happens on screen and what comes through the headphones to be somewhat off-putting, especially in a shooting game. If I'm playing Red Dead Redemption 2, I'll pull the trigger to shoot a gun and the gunshot sound lags a little bit behind the onscreen animation. First world problems I guess but I really can't live with that lag. After a quick bit of online research, I discover that I can connect my AirPod Max headphones to my PS5 controller with a cable. This cable. The official Apple USB-C to 3.5mm audio cable. Apparently it has to be this cable and generic versions (if they even exist) will not work. I don't know how true this is but I didn't want to waste money on a cable that might not work so I just went ahead and bought the official one. For £40. A cable. £40. Yes it works, yes it has solved my issue so that I can now play PS5 games and listen via my AirPod Max headphones with no lag and yes, nobody forced me to buy this cable but even so... £40. For a cable. I feel like a bit of a rube. A bit of a sucker. I don't like it when people criticise my beloved Apple products but it is practices such as this, charging £40 for a simple cable because they know you have no other option, that gives them a bad name. Oh well, I've bought it now and it is happily doing what I bought it to do. It has solved my lag issue and I continue to happily use my overpriced headphones. And to be fair it is a very well made, quality cable. But for £40 it should be shouldn't it?

Package arrived earlier than expected. The cable itself is great quality and definitely an original Apple 1m Lightning charger. The packaging looked a bit handled and slightly dirty, but it was still sealed. Overall, I’m happy with the product.
