I take this for my gut health and it seems to help. Positive side effect is stronger, faster growing hair and nails. I add it to my morning coffee. No flavor, dissolves well.

I ended up in the hospital with arsenic poisoning after taking Code Age Multi Collagen for five months. The Organic Consumer Association tested the top collagen powders and all but three contained arsenic, lead and/or mercury. BioOptimal Collagen Powder was one of only three products to test clean. Even though it only contains two collagens instead of five, Bio Optimal seems to be giving me the same great results as the Code Age, without putting me in the hospital! It tastes a lot better, too, without the fish collagen. It's not quite tasteless but the slight taste is not unpleasant at all. It also mixes very well in liquid. As to effects, I am getting the same ones I got with Code Age, tightening skin, wrinkles reducing and elimination of joint pain, which I mostly was starting to feel in my neck and back. Those little twinges are completely gone now. The price of BioOptimal is competitive, I just hope they keep up the excellent quality and cleanliness.

This product is amazing. After only three weeks I noticed my hair was regrowing! I always had a full head of hair, and over the last 6 months I noticed it was falling out a lot--collecting in the shower drain, collecting in the sink when I combed it, etc. Well, it stopped falling out and now my hair is getting full again. Also, my nails have been cracking and peeling for years, and now they are long and hard. And the collagen powder really does dissolve completely and does nothing to alter the flavor of your drink. I put a scoop in my coffee every morning. This brand was the least expensive I could find, so don't fall into the trap of thinking that something is better just because it is more expensive. This collagen is type 1 and 3. I am going to see if they also sell type 2 as it is for your bones and connective tissue. I highly recommend BioOptimal and this product. And, by the way, I'm 75 years old, so if this was good for me and you're younger, it's going to do wonders for you!

So far, so good. I’ve only been using this product for a little over two weeks but I have noticed a couple of benefits already, which I think is worth noting for anyone who may be looking to purchases this product. First of all, I want to start with the taste and absorption because, let’s be honest, if it doesn’t pass these two then no one is going to use and/or want it. I am impressed! I drink one cup of coffee per day, which I have always added almond nut organic creamer to, and I throw this right in with it and it dissolves quickly and without clumps. (*Note: make sure to add the collagen powder right away — while it’s hot — or it can clump!). No clumping, ever, if added while hot/warm. Next, it is virtually tasteless. I say this bc you will notice a different taste if added to watered down coffee, etc., but with a good brew, it’s great. Also, added to smoothies it’s phenomenal. As for benefits, I’m only two weeks in, but my nails are very strong and my hair is growing like crazy. Already noticeably thicker in areas. Not sure about other benefits yet but I’ll continue using as I hope it helps with anti-aging, too! I also deal with chronic pain, but unlike several other users have commented, I haven’t noticed any reduced pain as of yet.

I have never taken collagen supplements before so I don't have anything to compare it to, however, I think I hit the jackpot on the first try. There is very little if any flavor so I use it in my morning apple cider vinegar drink or my herbal tea and it doesn't change the taste at all. That's a real plus since I have very finicky taste buds and struggle to drink things that taste 'off'. My nails have always been strong but I was shedding a lot of hair and I've noticed in the month that I've been taking the collagen diligently, that the shedding has become more normal and my nails are even better than they were before; stronger and smoother. Oh, I almost forgot to mention the reason I started taking this supplement at all was because of my knee. I had made an appointment to see the orthopedic surgeon to check my knee out before I left on an international vacation. Well, it's a 2 month wait to see him so I ordered the collagen supplement and started taking it a few days later. Ha! My knee feels great and I wonder if I should cancel the appointment. My knee was NOT terrible so don't think it will cure a really bad joint but it did ache when I rode my bike or sat without stretching it out for long. My point is that it most likely will help your joints but don't count on a cure. I will stick with this product for as long as I can.

This was the first Collagen Powder I used as it was recommended by a friend about 7 years ago. In between I tried other name brands but found Bio Optimal works best for me. I’m extremely food sensitive and there are no unpleasant side effects for me. I put it in my coffee and it dissolves easily, has no taste or odor. I like to keep my protein intake high and this has 9 grams of protein in each scoop.

Can’t comment on results yet but this definitely doesn’t mix well with cold liquids and is not tasteless unless it’s in something very flavorful. I tried in water and then yogurt and the taste is awful. A smoothie did disguise it best.

I believe it has helped prevent more wrinkling in my face. Very easy to put in my coffee every morning. Does not affect the taste at all.
