Canada Dry Powder Drink Mix – Sugar Free & Delicious (Variety, 30 Sticks)

Excellent flavor easy to mix being a diabetic my blood sugar level stay down if I don’t drink sodas or drinks with high sugar in them, but it’s hard to find something that has good flavor Canada dry definitely does

I have a Sodastream knockoff and love making carbonated water, but I want a soda! So I am using a packet of this Ginger Ale and stirring it up in a small amount of cold water and then pouring in carbonated water to make my own soda. Cheaper and better for me! Both the regular ginger ale and the cranberry version are very tasty made up with carbonated water.

I tried this with my SodaStream. It mixes well, tastes similar to store bought Canada Dry but does have an after taste to it. Most likely the after taste is from the sweetener used, it isn’t bad but it isn’t like store bought. All in all it does taste like Canada Dry (in a SodaStream anyway) and it is less expensive than buying 2L’s or cans.

I would suggest purchasing only the Cranberry Flavored Canada Dry (CD) instead of this Variety Pack. As the Pack consisted of a variety pack, I have a choice of giving an average of the two flavors or giving a rating on the best of the two. The Cranberry Flavored CD is what gets the high rating (5-stars); the original flavor CD is more like a 1-star. As with other powdered versions of carbonated drinks, this is better served diluted (using a 20 oz cup instead of a 12 oz cup -- the drink is otherwise too sweet), premixing the powder with about a teaspoon of boiling water, then (if carbonated water isn't available) using ice-cold (about 35F) water.

The plain Ginger Ale tastes more like a citrus drink than ginger. It is much more acidic than canned soda. I detected NO ginger taste. So, while the taste, overall, is good, it is not for me. The Cranberry Ginger Ale is more palatable because the cranberry flavor enriches the citrus-y Ginger Ale taste. Of the two, I much prefer the cranberry flavored one. Fortunately, another member of the household likes both flavors. Bottom line: Does not taste like ginger, but still good-tasting. UPDATE: I contacted the manufacturer inquiring about what is meant by "natural" flavoring, asking if this product contains REAL ginger. Their response revealed NOTHING, claiming that their ingredients are proprietary. To me this translates to: NO ginger. So...while their liquid beverage (canned soda) claims it includes real ginger, this powdered version does not. Will not be buying it again.
