Coast flashlights are very durable, but even they break once in a while. Coast replaced the one that failed quickly with no charge. When in use, you can feel the quality. Watch the lumen rating! Be sure to get enough power for your needs, but don’t overdo it. For me, 290 to 550 lumens works best. This is for household use and auto repair. Your needs may be different.

Great flashlight!! The light is very bright and illuminates a whole room. The body is made out of durable aluminum. Its the perfect size -not too big or small. Good value for the money.

Got this flashlight after the battery in my mini Mag light swelled until it was unremovable and the Energizer pen light switch crapped out on me. So far this flashlight seems to be much better built and works on readily available AA batteries! only thing is the manufacturer should really bundle this with a sheath.

Good solid feel, bright, and doesn't burn thru batteries like some I've had. It has a focusable beam with decent optics. The only functional shortcoming is the beam doesn't quite focus to as narrow as I like to have to get that long range that I need occasionally, but the excellent vivid white brightness helps mitigate that. I require replaceable, common batteries, which this has in the form of AA's. There are few things more worthless than a dead rechargeable flashlight. I always keep spare AA's on hand, but if I forget, and they dim out, I can get replacements virtually anywhere. It is equipped with a pocket clip which seems to work quite well, and since this light doesn't fit in the well-worn nylon belt holster I've used for all my flashlights for the last 20 years or so (which originally came from a mini-mag light), I’ve been using it. Another feature I really like is that it doesn't have all those useless light flash patterns. For roughly the last 20 years, I've always carried a flashlight but I've used a flashing pattern once, or maybe twice. This has a tail pushbutton hi/low/off, which the low power setting is useful to extend battery life when you know you're going to be using it for very long periods. I would absolutely buy this model flashlight again if it were lost.

Raised my review from 4 to 5 stars after using this highly rated flashlight for a couple of weeks. At first I was put off by its small size (6-1/2" tall and a slender 1" in diameter), but I came to realize it was still just as powerful as I needed. And I came to appreciate being able to stand it at the edge of my window sill on the way out into the backyard to take my dog out at night. The best feature is the ability to leave the wide range adjuster at the setting I want rather than having to step through it with a button each time I use it like so many of the other models. After a few months, I ordered another even though it (most unfortunately) comes in an overkill package that you either have to break your scissors on or cut yourself with a knife to open.

Great value. Any problems just contact Coast. They will want a picture of the flashlight and then they send out a whole new one. I use this with their rechargeable battery.

Love it. A lot of light and a very small package.

I like it has two functions: on and off. It's bright, and the beam is focusable. It's sturdy and well built. It's reliable and not so expensive that I will cry if I loose it... and this is my second one. The first fell out of my pocket on an ATV ride. I will buy again.
