If thumping is your goal, this will accomplish that.
This thing feels good in the hands, grip is grippy. I tapped it on my head lightly just to get an idea of how it would feel "on a tire". This would definitely be useful if you needed some extra help against a "tire pressure check". It's way smaller than I imagined, which is a good thing, cause it's compact and light, but can still absolutely "thump a tire" very well. If you don't get the one with the skull, you're nuts. It's just a cool piece, even without its intended use.

I bought this bat for my 3 year old to use as a tball bat. It is a bit on the short side for tball but he can swing it much better than a 24" bat. This bat is also very light which is great for younger kids.

Lightweight and easy to swing
I purchased this a while ago to keep in my backpack and when I first got it, I was surprised at how lightweight it was. My only complaints with it were the rubber grip it came with and a rattling sound from inside the bat. I ended up taking off the rubber grip and replacing it with layers of athletic tape but I couldn't get rid of the rattling sound. Nothing detrimental but it was bothering me so I ordered a new one.
