Fresh and finely ground powder. I am taking it as a part of my morning Ayurvedic concoction.

This product from Darsa Organics is grown in India and commonly used in Ayurvedic preparations. It is certified to have at least 95% organic product. You get 8oz. of Shatavari Root, ground into a fine powder. Darsa Organics seems to provide high quality products, and this appears to follow this high standard. This comes in a resealable plastic bag; due to the fine powder, I'd advise transfering it into a container so the fine powder does not pouf out when opening the bag if you are not very careful. Shatavari Root powder has many alleged benefits, one of which is increased energy. It is also said to have diuretic properties, as well as anti-aging effects on the skin, and more. You can look up many recipes online for suggested use -- usage both externally and internally. 8 oz should last quite a while, as a serving in tea or milk is 1/4-1/2 tsp. (per research into usage). External use recipes also do not typically require large quantities at a time. As with any supplement, be sure to do your research on both usage and contraindications before incorporating this into your diet. While Shatavari Root is said to have many restorative properties and tbought to be quite safe, that does not mean it is safe for everyone. If Shatavari Root IS something you feel is right for you, Darsa Organics' provides what seems to be a high quality preparation of Shatavari Root powder, without any additives. It is simply pure, organic Shatavari Root from India, in a fine powder form ready for consumption. It dissolves quickly into both warm and cold liquids, making it easy to incorporate into a variety of preparations.

Horrible product. Contains sand grains which you can very clearly make out when consumed. DO NOT BUY!!

I’m trying to collect a stockpile of alternative or homeopathic supplements in capsule, liquid, leaf, and powder form. I’ve never heard of shatavari powder, but there’s always a lot of information out there on the herb. Not all supplements have FDA approval, but this one has it. This shatavari is produced and packaged in India. That being said, any supplements I use are recorded on my medical records just in case I experience any issues. The ingredient label simply states this is shatavari roots powder. There’s a suggestion that this can be made into a tea. There is a claim that this powder does help with digestion and helps with overall wellbeing. It does have a Best By date stamped on the packaging. I do like this brand (love it actually) and have enjoyed sampling many of their products. I like the fact that it’s in a resealable bag that has a window in which I could actually see the shataavari roots powder.

Shatavari has numerous benefits and is considered safe for long term use by all users, including pregnant and nursing mothers. It is well known in Ayurvedic medicine. It also contains an anti-aging substance that enhances the skin and reduces wrinkles in the elderly. I will provide any known benefits and side-effects I experience from each supplement I take personally; however, effects are often unapparent for many months - if at all. For this reason, I choose to place more emphasis on product safety in my reviews and will point out weaknesses. Sometimes I worry about powdered things when I order them because there’s always a risk of them losing potency fairly quickly as is the nature of powders. I haven’t had that issue with this powder since I started using it. I put it into two veggie gel caps in the morning and that seems to do the trick more than adequately. I’ve been taking shatavari on and off for many years now and I can definitely notice the difference between when I am taking it and when I’m not. I and everyone around me can and will attest to liking me a lot more when I’m steady on the shatavari so it’s nice to have found a reliable powder that yields a considerable amount more veggie caps that what I’ve received in a bottle in the past. Coupled with the fact that they seem to be as not if not more effective than its predecessors means I’m a big fan of this shatavari powder and can recommend it without hesitation!
