While I love the taste of these, the packaging often makes me question how fresh they are. This is because the plastic that holds the sticks are relatively flimsy and you do not know for certain whether the plastic was damaged or if the seal was broken. Often there is water vapor that's inside the package when the package arrives, and I don't know whether that's as designed or a manufacturing defect, or even if the sticks themselves are safe to eat. That being said, the sticks themselves are quite salty so that might be enough to deter any growth of microorganisms.
