It's nice drawing paper. It draws on well. I know I'll get plenty of use out of it.

I love this paper…I like the color of the paper (cream/off white), and I love the smoothness! I would like it more if it were available in 100lb, but honestly the 80lb is adequate. The surface is nice and smooth, but not too “slick”…I’d say it’s “just right”. ☺️. I have been using it for broad-edge calligraphy, and my dip pen nibs absolutely “sing” on this paper. This paper is nice and absorbent, so the ink does not pool, and it does not bleed or feather at all. Not sure of its performance with pointed nibs, as I have not tried them, but I suspect they would perform brilliantly. The price is absolutely fantastic for paper of this quality.

Excellent heavy weight paper for charcoal, pencil, graphite

This drawing pad was purchased for artwork. I do like the pad and the convenience to order from home. I also understand things happen during delivery that is hard to avoid. However, for the price of a dollar per page you would hope it wouldn't have wavy edges as if it got damp, also dings in the pad that punch through to the papers. Artwork is generally intended to have a beautiful final presentation, so I'll gave to incorporate these faults into my work. Like I said, I might not like it but I understand stuff happens. I hope drawing on the paper will be a good experience. One other thing I noticed, Amazon states this package was signed for by Jihn. My name is not Jihn and I never signed anything. Straight up lies!

If it's the type of paper needed for your medium/end result, it's a good brand. I have no issue with this product. The packing by Amazon, however, left much to be desired. They threw it in a large box with other heavy items (cases of water, no less) without any packing so all was running amuck in the oversized box. By the time it was tossed around and arrived it was bent (atleast it wasn't wet!!) NOT what you want for artwork. Rather careless by the packers at Amazon considering it's not rocket science when the cover tells you what it is and any semi-intelligent human could understand what it's used for and that it should be kept FLAT and DRY. (Common ? sense). It's a miracle the spiral wasn't crushed/flattened. Order separately from other items. It may arrive in better shape. I will likely order from an art store next time.

I really am enamored with high quality paper. I only think this is a 400 series because it is not as thick as the Bristol Plate. Possibly not 100% cotton? The color has a vintage look. In other words, it is a creamy yellow. It is not made for watercolor, but if you are experienced in dry brushing, your work with pen and watercolor will have that old style manuscript look. I have taken it out of the glued pad and made my own ring binder sketchbooks. I really appreciate the quality of Strathmore products and prefer to buy series 400/500 which are the highest quality by this manufacturer.
