Versatility in installation
Customer wanted this product installed in metal office door frame. The block to put the rj45 forces installer to cut deep into frame risking glass and door frame damage. It also does not come with any other base so mount smaller than the one it already comes with. Door controller also does not have a cover to hide exposed wiring. It is not practical to mount in any other place besides drywall
