Can I use tap water, or do I need distilled water?

Yes. For models featuring an integrated descaling cartridge, like the SC 3 EasyFix, you can use 100% tap water as the machine filters it automatically. The machine will indicate when the cartridge has reached its capacity and needs to be replaced.

Why does a little water come out of the nozzle when I first pull the trigger?

This is a normal result of steam condensing in the hose while the machine heats up. Before starting your task, simply point the nozzle into a sink or cloth for a few seconds. Once cleared, you’ll get consistent steam for a perfect clean.

Can I use detergents or floor cleaners in the tank?

To protect your machine, only use water. Adding cleaning agents or oils directly into the tank can damage the boiler. Don't worry—the steam alone kills 99.9% of bacteria and viruses without the need for harsh cleaners!

Is steam cleaning safe for my wood or laminate floors?

Steam is excellent for sealed hard floors. We recommend using the lowest steam setting and keeping the tool moving. It’s a fast, chemical-free way to sanitize hard floors. We always suggest checking with your flooring manufacturer if you are unsure.
