I switched to using these dashi packets as the price has risen considerably on the individual ingredients and gotten to be difficult to find here in Idaho. Simmered and steeped, these are convenient, and as easy to use as a tea bag! This soup base is perfect for miso soup, nabe pot, and all my dashi needs. The ingredients are well balanced and free of unwanted preservatives and stabilizers. Each packet can easily make 3-4 cups of good tasting dashi. Made in Japan and I appreciate that Amazon warehouses these.

Glad i found this product. I used to buy one that didn't have flavor but this one has an excellent flavor. Best of all no additives smells good. I use it to make kew pie, now my mayo is packed with flavor and is irresistible. I buy it again

I was on the hunt for a clean Dashi stock to shut up a craving I had. I didn't realize that I would be embarking on an impossible mission. I live in a large city, but until I found Gremlin's Dashi stock on Amazon, I was coming up short. Sure, I could find dashi, but they all had MSG or other additives. Gremlin's is both additive-free and MSG free; not a single ingredient is questionable. This one really delivers. It produces a rich umami broth with just one little packet. It's super quick to prepare and easy too. Seriously, my kids can make this. It's packed full of minerals and, following TCM principles, nourishes the kidneys. I'm so happy I found this and will definitely reorder when I run out.

I rarely write reviews but WOW. These dashi packets are delicious. I used one to make egg drop soup and the quality is really noticeable. I used ~2 cups of water (or a little less) and lightly boiled for 4 min in then removed the packet and the stock came out excellent. Balanced, flavorful and light. Buy it!

Convenient, good flavor. However, you may need a couple of packets to get the flavor profile that is more authentic

Really tasty dashi stock, and very simple and quick to prepare. Smelled a little funky dry, but was excellent once boiled with the veggies. Easy to just plop in and microwave for a rich tasting meal. Better than granulated dashi, and better than my own try at anchovy/kelp broth.

Highly regarded Japanese broth mix, additive-free, and MSG-free. It gives a tasty and rich umami, just a bag or two and no compromise on the authentic and natural flavor of the dashi.

This stock is so delicious. I drink it when I want to give my digestive system a break, and it is very satisfying. It came highly recommended by my acupuncturist, and I'm glad I tried it. I have ordered multiple times and shared with others, who love it too!
