Good value arrived in one piece
I was skeptical about buying oil from amazon as I’ve had experiences in the past of items breaking inside of the box and I envisioned arriving home to find boxes containing 2 gallons of motor oil sitting up side down in my driveway with a broken caps soaking into my concrete.I bought these because they had a promotion coupon on them, making it cheaper then the parts store, with the fact that Amazon delivers it to top it off. They arrived neatly packed, boxed securely and in individually inside heat sealed plastic bags. No broken bottles. I was impressed. I have noticed that amazon has gotten much better about packing things that might spill or break.Other than the lack of any dramatic arrival of the oil I don’t know what else to say. It seems to be doing its job, as my engine hasn’t seized up yet. Just kidding. It’s a pretty good oil, I’d personally prefer Mobil-1 over almost any other oil (except AmesOil or Royal Purple-but those will run you about $8-12/ a quart). But that’s strictly my opinion. Like I said I gave this a try because it was significantly cheeper than going to the parts store. In reality in most circumstances oils are pretty similar, apart from the weight and being conventional or synthetic. It’s mostly personal bias.In short:I would recommend buying this oil from amazon 👍🏻

Nearly 2.5 or 3 years later. Still great for my 2014 Jetta S (Base 2L, 4 cylinder)
EDIT: My 2014 2L 4Cylinder Basic Jetta S still works fine with this oil brand nearly 3 years later, or 2.5 years later, not sure I think I switched to it April 2016.Yes it is a different rating than the OEM but seems to perform all the same. Other people say it performs better than stock. I really don't know about that. I just know it runs well, doesn't burn with time, although the car is still basically new-ish, so it shouldn't burn oil anyways. I am happy with it, saved me dealer cost. And I found the real OEM filter for the car for like 8 bucks on Amazon. Pretty cheap oil change all in all.Original review:I used this oil about a year. I am 28 and I drive my vehicle hard so for me I am really getting my moneys worth...actually saving money here by skipping the stealership OEM oil.VW recommends 5W-40 (or at least 5W-30)BUTThis 0W-40 is supposedly better with higher quality chemicals and is a thinner weight on start yet maintains that thick 40 rating at hot temps.I did notice the car doesn't seem to struggle when it's ultra cold out and starting it the first time that morning. It just rolls the engine right away. I can only assume that's because of the thin 0W cold winter rating.

Excellent choice for an E46 BMW
So far, so good. Price was excellent, delivery was swift, and product was properly packaged.Oil works nicely in my 2003 BMW 330xiI use:*six quarts of this Castrol Edge 0W-40*two quarts of Shell Rotella T6 full synthetic 5W-40*one 300mL can of Liqui-Moly MoS2 molybdenum disulfude friction modifier. This last part is key, it's an incredibly effective oil additive, and I am a MAJOR skeptic when it comes to "things added to the crankcase that make outrageous claims regarding performance improvement" - seriously, I've seen it ALL over the years, from Slick-50 to the $150 syringes of goo that is supposed to add 50bhp instantly.Molybdenum disulfude has long been known as an incredibly effective lubricant where shear and extreme loading of metal surfaces is concerned. Added to engine oil it forms a layer on contact points and reduces friction immensely. My motor runs quieter, cooler, feels "freer" and has better throttle response, AND gets two more MPG in city driving. It's also German made, which is a plus, considering what I'm using it in.Go check it out, Liqui-Moly MoS2 - read the reviews. For $8 it can not be beat.

Great oil for Euros
Great oil for your German vehicle, just make sure it has the correct specs for your car.

Works wonders for lifter tick in Miatas
I own a 1990 Mazda Miata with about 150k miles. If you own an NA, you know its common for lifter tick to come around when it's time to change the oil or just be a constant annoyance with the motor. I needed an oil change since I was just about on the interval, and was starting to get some tick from the lower temps outside. I figured I'd try this oil out since I needed cold start protection and also planned on keeping the oil around for the hot summer. Paired with a Purolator BOSS filter, and about ~1500 miles later, I still have no lifter tick and the oil is still golden. The only inherent problem I can think of is that this seems to be a newer (and thus, uncommon) blend of oil, so no Autozone or Walmart near me carries it and for that I can't exactly reccomend it as oil for your daily driver. But if you've got an older car that you don't put a bunch of miles on and need protection from any lifter tick or cold start wear, this can be a great choice for you.

Great Product - but 1 week Prime delivery is disappointing
I’ve been using this oil for years on our car that requires German Castrol 0W-40 for extended/extreme conditions. It’s a great oil. I’ve been using GC from new and our car now has 175k miles and the engine is still in amazing shape. I’m sure the oil has had a lot to do with it. It continues to run well and is 100% leak free. It’s good to use recommended oils that meet design specs by the manufacturer and is easy to do when it’s a quality product like Castrol’s synthetic. The only complaint is that Prime membership now promises 1 week Prime deliveries; not 1 Day or 2 Day Prime like it had for years. It’s been hit or miss how quickly this has shipped. Sometimes it comes poorly packaged and bottles are crushed. And often it takes more than 5-7 days to receive it, typically shipping 2 days after it’s ordered. Today it shipped 1 day after order, but instead of taking 7 days promised, Amazon has patted themselves on the back saying “Arriving early” in 6 days instead of 7. For sometime like this it can be important to get it next day, other times I plan ahead. I needed it and I bought a bottle locally instead. I’m undecided on if I’ll keep this extra for next time.
