I’ll be blunt. It ACTUALLY works. I feel like this makes a massive difference in preventing bar wobble. The MT09 is a tank slapper waiting to happen, but I’m confident this will help. I used to wobble on shifts from 1-2 2-3 and 3-4. Feels much more stable now. Idk if it will stand the test of time, but for now it actually works. Money well spent. Ensure you have loctite for the install.

Easy to install and seems to work ok. Don’t notice much of a difference with it just it looks cool.

Use lots of loctite. Lock every bolt it’s a requirement. every bolt worked them self out during the first ride, but nothing was lost. On the xsr900 2016 you have to cut the plastic cover to make it fit but you won’t see it works great.

as it says in the title after a few months of use it started to leak and leak oil, I do not recommend it, I contacted the seller, since he was willing to buy only the damper without the mounting kit, he offered me a $5 discount , after thinking about it a bit, I did not accept, since the item is of poor quality and it started to lose oil out of nowhere, having a normal use with the motorcycle, in any case the seller should replace the damper since it is their fault manufacture poor quality things, I do not recommend it better save a little more and buy an Ohlins steering damper that costs a little more than $ 300 dollars, it is better since keep in mind that if I had agreed to buy the damper with those 5 measly dollars of discount I would have spent more than $150 practically half of what an Ohlins damper is worth, which will last you many years and not a few months like this poor quality damper, take my advice and do not spend your money on this, it will be cheap in the long run it will be expensive when when it starts to fail. Update: I continue to use it, while ordering the Ohlins shock, in short it exploded, filling my bike and clothes with hydraulic fluid do not buy this garbage save your money and do not buy this product, and the seller does not want to be responsible for his garbage damper.

It definitely makes a difference in the feel of the front end on the Yamaha MT09, big big improvement, just make sure to use locktite when installing it and there’s no installation instructions, YouTube has a few how to videos that will be helpful

I have installed this on the 2018 XSR 900. The middle plastic fuel tank cover(black part) had to be trimmed off by ~3 cm to make it fit. To be honest, I rode it only once and the steering felt more stable even in the softest setting. That's a good upgrade for 90$. But I don't know how long it will last. Wish the bike had such a system installed by default...

First of all make sure you have all the tools, & second if you are following any YouTube videos you do not need to take anything apart just follow along is easy and fast install

Came with no instructions and I had to cut off some plastic pieces of my tank to make it fit my 2020 xsr900. But I got it to work. Overall looks great

The product looks ok but the way it is designed it rubs on its own bracket. This is wearing a large gouge in the damper and bracket. This also loosens the bracket over a very short time, requiring constant tightening as it comes loose and then it does nothing but flop about.

Yamaha FZ 09 this steering damper is great. the parts fit is excellent. Adjustement on the stiff side. In Quebec we have some bad road and when you hit the throttle the steering damper do is job. Ce steering damper est excellent. L'usinage des pièces est impeccable. Ajustement stiff. En sorti de courbe sur mauvais revêtement il fonctionne à merveille en tordant l'accélérateur. Je le recommande.
