This converter is a very great product. I use it for my home to convert from 110to 220. It works very greatly. I even recommend for my family and friends most of us have the same product that’s needs to convert it 220 so everyone loves is a thank me to introduce them this converter. Having used this converter to plug both 240V and 120V cooking devices for several months, the performance is quite stable without noise, I like the sharp digital display indicating real-time voltage.

This is supposed to be a 5000VA converter, capable of outputting 5000VA of either 120 or 220V AC power. The unit comes supplied with a standard US 120V 15A input plug and similarly sized power cable. However, simple division tells us that, to supply 5000VA at 120V we need about 42A input current, so the supplied plug and cord are underrated by a factor of about 3 and pose a significant fire hazard. I looked inside and the interior wiring is also not adequate for 42A, so you can't fix the problem just by supplying a beefier input cord and plug. Given the input power plug the device should not be used for more than 1800VA and should not be advertised for higher power levels.

The unit works great. The 220 “universal “outlets do not take any American 220 plugs. European plugs work well could be purchased on Amazon for a reasonable price.

Received it with a bit of damage to the frame. You can see that in the sidewall and on the bottom of the unit. That is the reason for the 4-stars. Otherwise, the product is outstanding for US use. I bought it to be used in Thailand which has 220v.

Purchased this high voltage converter to run my EU kitchen appliances here in USA. So far, it has been very reliable and very happy with its performance.

Dont buy. Stay away from this product. I bought this and tried using it in Germany. It just went off and swelled upexpanded and that was the end. This product is not electrically safe or well engineered to work with 240 as was initially stated.
