5.6m (18' 5'') Double Telescopic Foldable Extendable Multipurpose Aluminium A Frame Ladder Step Ladder with Stabilizer K5.6+Bag

I purchased these double telescopic extendable multipurpose A frame ladders to use in my business, I have found them to be so very handy and flexible as they fold down and fit in the boot of my car. This ladder can be used as a one piece ladder that extends to 5 Meter or can be used as a standard 2.5 Meter A frame ladder, my business is electrical installation work so the ability to carry a ladder that can be used for a straight or A frame is tremendous as you do not know what you require when going to a job for the first time. In the past I have had to use local hire companies to supply ladders especially when travelling long distances, this is inconvenient to say the least as you have to source local hire companies prior to starting the job then waste a lot of time waiting for the hire companies to deliver the ladders, also in some cases you have to wait for them to pick the ladders up once you have finished. Now that I have this set of ladders is saves the cost of the hire and in addition you don't have any waiting around. The ladders are very straightforward to extend and also just as easy to fold down, an added bonus with these ladders is the fact that you can use them on stair cases and I have used them all the way up a staircase from the bottom to the top when fitting lighting. Also the fact that they can be used in the A frame mode to a maximum height of 2.5 Meter and also at different heights depending on how many telescopic sections are extended is also a bonus as this caters to various ceiling heights. The hinge system that is used to lock the ladders in the A frame position and also in the straight ladder position is a high quality locking mechanism that locks very solidly for added confidence. There is an additional stabiliser bar that fits on the bottom of the ladder, this is fixed with two bolts and adds additional stability especially when the ladder is fully extended. At the same time heavy rubber feet are fitted to the stabiliser bar to ensure that the base of the ladder is stable and will not slip. The only thing to be aware of is that they are quite heavy at approximately 18kg to handle, but this is quite understandable considering that they are capable of holding the maximum weight of 150kg, but this is not a problem for me as the flexibility of these ladders overrides the weight issue. The ladders are supplied with a strong bag that contains a shoulder strap and this is the easiest way to carry them round for any distance. The build quality of these ladders is very good and when you look around at the straight telescopic ladders available, the price of these ladders is very attractive as it reflects very good value for money. I would highly recommend these ladders for anyone that requires the flexibility of the small folded package that these ladders fold down to, also the ability to be used for a multitude of applications. As I previously stated the only main consideration for anyone is the weight issue of these ladders.

Vorsprung Durch Technik must mean flaming great ladders or similar! Excellent product, you can always trust the Germans to make a quality product. Needed this to paint my cladding. Same advice as everyone else is giving, watch your fingers when dropping ladder, it goes quick and with some force, not yet done it though. I had these fully extended and was right at the top painting the cladding on my chimney and apart from crying like a little girl as it was so high and apart from the fact any breeze felt like a tornado making one's legs tremble the ladder felt really solid. I screwed batons into my decking for security and with the bracket i bought that kept the ladder off the wall there was never any feeling of insecurity or the dreaded 'ladder wobble' I nearly choked on the cost, but sometimes you cannot cut corners on cost and without doubt they are worth the money. Not tried them as a step ladder yet, as they were bought specifically to do the cladding, but mightily impressed with the quality. Definitely recommend this product.

I like the steps they work well however now that I have had time to use them on site they do have two issues, the first is that you can only lock the sections up and not down, this means it is very hard to move when partially extended, if you are using them as steps at less than full extension when you try and move them the sections keep sliding out rather than the steps moving to the required location. the second problem is when using it as a ladder they have a significant quantity of flex, when you are at the top of the ladder the flex puts you much closer to the wall making working much harder.

save yr money! when fully extended does not feel safe,put it against my back wall,bent vertical against my wall!

Perfect for anyone, saves on storage, bit heavy to lug about but considering the length you get, great. All step ladders more than three steps should take note that these are the way forward! Bottom bar is detachable (three minutes) for storage / transportation and I replaced the bolts with wing nuts for ease.

Plastic rings that hold treads onto ladder break easily causing tread to fall out of ladder. Using as steps only partially erected is annoying unless using a strap of some description as when you try to move the ladder the bottom falls away to meet the floor. I have used these ladders a few times fully extended, not a lot of fun! The ladders bend in the middle causing the top of the ladder to sit almost vertically against the wall; I am 200lbs though so.....Good price when I bought but think next time I'll spend a bit more and get a sturdier ladder. Transportation of ladders is good though, I have a Skoda Superb estate and they fit across the boot perfectly. In summary, a good set of ladders to get you out of the poo but not upto everyday use.

Versatile but not very convenient to work with - it's heavy to manoever and on lifting it up you end up extending sections you don't mean to. Straightening it out to work as a single long ladder rather than a step-ladder is a nightmare! And doesn't feel all that safe at the hinge-point when climbing.

Excellent product although rather heavy and cumbersome to lug around. Arrived fast and extended fairly simply and smoothly. Do beware when collapsing the steps, one could easily get hurt as each rung slides down sharply. Don't forget to use the safety locking mechanism too, otherwise you and the ladder could topple over.
