Fixed A Bathtub!
It’s not often that something advertised on TV behaves as promised. I have to admit that I was pleasantly surprised. We have this crappy fiberglass bathtub that wasn’t installed properly. An accident caused a big split in the bottom and a gash on the side. Flex Tape patched the holes and prevented any leakage. We can stand in the tub for a rippin’ hot shower and the tape keeps its hold. I’m pretty sure that I could not remove the Flex Seal tape without tearing the tub apart. The repair in the photo has held up all summer, and I am confident it will last until the tub is replaced.

Very effective
This tape is great for outdoor fixes. It is durable and stays on through all types of weather. I have used it with great success to hold a cracked and damaged outdoor trash bin together for months. Only downside is that it is very sticky and can stick strongly to your skin as you’re using it.

Tape holds fine unless fully soaked
This tape sits at our shop front desk for quick fixes. I grabbed it when a hose fitting under the bathroom sink started dripping during business hours. It stuck fast on the dry section and stopped the drip enough so I could finish with customers. That part was good. When I tried using it on a joint that sat under water in a bucket overnight, the edge started lifting the next day. So for constant submersion, it is not great. For quick, slightly damp repairs and short-term leaks around the store, it works well enough.

A "Seen on TV" that actually works
Let's face it, don't you always wonder if the products you see advertised on TV (for "$19.95") perform as the pitchman claims? Well, I took a flyer on this one and, surprisingly enough, it does! I used it to fix a leaky shower head connection and it stopped the water leak immediately--even though the water gets hot and is under pressure. There's a trick to getting it to work properly and that is to stretch it a bit when you are wrapping it around something. When it snaps back into place it creates a waterproof bond that holds. I can't say that it works on every application, but those that I've used it on, do not leak or are staying in place. My only suggestion to the company would be to make it in white, too. There are some jobs where white tape would be less visible and more cosmetically appealing.

UPDATE - EXTREMELY difficult to use. (07/18/2020) For Specific Type Projects - Difficult to Use
This review is for Flex Tape Rubberized Waterproof Tape..... UPDATE AUGUST 31, 2021 - If I could give NEGATIVE STARS, I would. The photo is on a travel trailer door. SUNSHINE AND ADVERSE WEATHER RESULTS IN FAST DETERIORATION. PLUS, I have not removed the tape remnants for fear of damaging the trailer exterior. UPDATED JULY 18, 2020. STAR RATING DOWNGRADED TO ONE. I WOULD GIVE ZERO IF POSSIBLE. (LynKin) Since my initial review, I have tried using this tape 2 more times for application to a smooth flat surface which is probably the intended use. I FIND IT ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO EVEN CUT THE TAPE SUCCESSFULLY. When using scissors the tape adhesive transfers to the cutting edges; the tape itself adheres to the scissors then folds on itself usually making that piece useless; the adhesive is EXTREMELY difficult to remove from the scissors, and I ended up discarding them. I have also used a box cutter which is somewhat easier, but the adhesive messes that blade up, also. Trying to clean the box cutter blade is still difficult, and one has the added danger of cutting oneself. Additionally, I get so aggravated having to fight this product. Too, I’m embarrassed to admit the tape always seems to win. The initial purchase price of this product is expensive. When one tries to incorporate the cost of the tape wasted due to difficulty of use, the cost skyrockets. I will NEVER purchase this product again. NO, I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT. I have one other comment. Since trying to use this product, I have paid special attention to TV ads. I have not seen one commercial promoting Flex Tape that demonstrates cutting it to get the length needed. The product itself does not include instructions, suggestions or methods for cutting the Flex Seal tape. *****My initial review is below.******* PROBABLY PURCHASED WRONG PRODUCT FOR THE TASK. STAR RATINGS ARE BASED ON MY ONE EXPERIENCE WITH THE PRODUCT Firstly, I am a 66 year old female; however, I do not have arthritis in my hands or fingers, and I’m usually able to do basic projects. I purchased this tape to seal a leak in the copper water line to the refrigerator ice maker. I realized too late the leak was the connection where the copper line attached to the water supply above floor level. The area was small and difficult for me to access. THE TAPE WAS DIFFICULT FOR ME TO USE. I had to cut it to size which WAS NOT an easy task. The tape stuck to my fingers and the scissors messing it up. IT MIGHT BE BETTER TO CUT THE TAPE WITH A STRAIGHT EDGE BOX CUTTER. There was no suggestion on the product or packaging how to cut the tape. It took me several tries to get the size of tape that I needed. I didn’t realize I needed to wrap around the connection which I found impossible to do neatly and correctly. I had most difficulty getting the tape between the back of the refrigerator, about 1/2” space, without it sticking and twisting. It was a mess. I ended up using several different pieces of tape, but I still wasn’t able to successfully seal the area as the entire circular connection needed to be addressed. UNKNOWINGLY, I PROBABLY PURCHASED THE WRONG PRODUCT FOR THIS TASK. Thinking back, the TV ads don’t show the tape being used for similar projects. They show the tape being applied to flat or corrugated areas or materials. They don’t show projects where the tape is used in small areas. The Flex Seal Paste might have worked better. NONETHELESS, I STILL GIVE INE STAR FOR ‘ EASY TO USE’ BECAUSE IT IS NOT. This review submitted by LynKin

not convinced yet.
We got a slit in our pool that drained the whole thing. We dried the area and layered it on the front and back. The first time it didn't stick and stay. The second time its stuck but I'm not convinced that it is sealed. There are bumps in now and seems to be peeling. I have seen water on the base of the pool, to be fair I do not know if it was the kids splashing. So far I am no convinced that this has worked and seemed more of a hassle than I wanted. But I am not ready to go buy a new pool so hopefully it can hold out for the rest of the season

I used this clear waterproof tape
I’m a stay-at-home mom and I grabbed this clear waterproof tape for a small leak we kept noticing under the kitchen sink. The first night it rained, I pressed the strip over the spot and wrapped it tight around the pipe. It stayed put when everything got wet 🌧️. The adhesive feels tough, and I also liked how it didn’t look messy for a quick fix 🧰.

Cinta normal
