Amazon Basics 8-Sheet High Security Cross Cut Paper and Credit Card Shredder with P-4 Security, Auto Shut-off, Black

This is a cool shredder that really shreds a bunch of papers at once. I love the shreds it makes, they are perfect for pet bedding, and the waste drawer holds a ton before you have to empty it. It has solidly great safety features and is easy to use. I appreciate that the buttons and readout messages are straightforward and I don't need to refer to the manual every time I turn it on or a message pops up. I've used it enough to make 4 giant garbage bags of shreds since it arrived, I had a backlog of papers that had been stacking up for months! And it's still going strong. I've needed to oil it twice with so much shredding, you can tell it's time to oil when it just starts feeling like it takes a half second more to shred. Glad I grabbed this, I love that I'm able to keep secure and repurpose our non-inky paper as bedding or mulch, it works great! Not too noisy, either!

This little machine works great for me. I use it at home to shred papers with personal information on it or unwanted mail with my information on it. It’s shreds old credit cards too!

Affordable and efficient compact shredder. Works great in my home office. Good for light shredding. Do not buy the used version. The first one I bought did not work.

The paper shredder itself is great and works really well. The compact size is perfect, cuts through the paper easily as long as you stick to the max number of sheets, and has lots of options. My only complaint is that the handle only lifts the shredder but not the bucket. Because it’s compact, I leave it in a closet and carry it out when I need it. Rather than just grabbing the handle like a plastic grocery bag, you have to lift the whole unit like a paper grocery bag. Suggestion to Amazon to have an option to clip the bucket to the shredder so it can all be carried with the handle.

As someone who gets a lot of mail, I appreciate having this shredder. It meets my needs and works well. It said it could handle metal credit cards but actually had more difficulty than I expected when I needed to shred one of mine. The credit card was pretty thick though. Overall I like it and would recommend. The instructions say not to shred envelopes with the transparent, plastic address section but what’s the point of having a shredder if I still have to open an envelope that I know contains junk mail? Thankfully, the shredder still works well despite me breaking the rules lol

Works exactly as advertised. Little on the noisy side, but that's expected of a shredder. Also heats up pretty quickly so I wouldn't use it for more than personal, at-home shredding.

better than one i paid $250 for years ago at staples. it really does like 18 sheets at a time i kept feeding it didnt get clogged once. however if you have a lot to shred when the basket wiht the window looks like its getting full id advise to pull the bucket out and clean the blades bc otherwise bucket will fill and prevent you from pulling it out. i like that it doesnt stop you like my old one and make you dump it but you have to stop before its too full. it cuts smaller peices than my old one. which is better for security. its really a great product and its soooo fast. if you like to shred your documents and mail so someone doesnt get your info from the garbage and try to steal your identity or get into your accounts. its a no brainer. i never thought it would shred so fast so small. impressed. especially for the price

It works well, isn't nearly as noisy as my last shredder. But it's a heavy piece of equipment sitting on top of a very lightweight waste basket, which means it's top heavy and tips over too easily when trying to move it from one place to another. Locking handles to prevent the top from falling off the waste basket would be a huge safety feature. But the shredded does a very good job, with little operating noise.

I was worried this would be a loud machine but it’s surprisingly quiet. I found the 8 sheet had a very high pitch gear sound this one is much lower in person. It handles paper just fine. I typically put in 4 unopened envelopes of mail at a time and it handles it well but slower than just sheets of paper. I recommend using a small bag in the bin just to keep dust to a minimum.

After reading the reviews, I was carefully optimistic about this purchase. We have a small business and we had a lot of historical paperwork to shred. I wanted an automatic document feed shredder and this one fit the bill. In the 5 days since receiving the Amazon shredder, I have shredded stacks of paper. The automatic document feed works great. I put in stapled and unstapled pages, (I followed the directions and only placed the staples towards the front of the shredder) and so far no paper jams. The bin is a good size, I line it with a clear plastic bag to make bin changes easier/tidier. I can put in a stack of paper and leave the room, the shredder does the job while I'm gone.

Works great..much quieter than my last shredder
