Brilliant secateurs
I love being out in my garden and I spend a lot of time maintaining it. I have gone through so many pairs of cheap secateurs as I’ve never wanted to pay more than £3 for a pair. In hindsight they probably cost me more as I kept having to throw them away after a few uses as they wouldn’t even cut through a leaf. I haven’t had that problem with these secateurs. These are light and fit nicely in my hand. The rubber on the handles isn’t padded which would have been nice for some added comfort when cutting tougher items, however I haven’t found them to be non slip. The cutting power is good, they slide through the stems of garden plants, nettles and brambles and even some thin tree branches. I haven’t found some secateurs rip, but these don’t, they slide and they are so smooth. As they are all metal they are sturdy to use, there’s no fear of the handles breaking when you add pressure. Are they value for money - absolutely! Word of warning, the tip of the blades are sharp and I nicked my finger so be careful. They are not rounded tips like you get with some.

Snip Snip Hooray! Gonicc Secateurs slash costs, not quality!
I recently got my hands on the Gonicc 8" Professional Secateurs, and for a budget-friendly pair of pruners, they’ve impressed me so far. They seem to do the job pretty well, whether I’m tidying up rose bushes or trimming back lighter branches, they cut through with ease. The blades are sharp, giving clean snips without much effort, and the build feels sturdy in hand, with a solid weight that doesn’t scream “cheap.” Visually, they’ve got a strong resemblance to Felcos, same sleek, ergonomic vibe with a red handle that looks the part. Now, Felcos are the ultimate in my book, nothing beats their precision and durability for serious gardening. But at a fraction of the price, these Goniccs hold their own for casual use. I’ve been using them for pruning tasks around the garden, and they’re decent enough, no complaints about performance on small / medium stems or green wood. That said, I’m not sure how they’ll fare in the long run. The jury’s out on durability, will they stay sharp and solid after a few seasons? Hard to tell yet, but for now, they’re not showing any signs of weakness. For the casual gardener who isn’t hacking through thick branches daily, they’re a steal. They won’t dethrone Felcos as the gold standard, but they don’t need to, at this price, they’re a practical pick that gets the job done without breaking the bank. Not bad at all!

Excellent, durable garden secateurs
These Gonicc 8" professional secateurs are really impressive. The bypass blades are sharp and cut cleanly, and I love the clever design of the spring - it’s not a traditional spring, which means it hasn’t rusted or failed like others I’ve used in the past. Even with heavy use since day one, they’ve held up perfectly. A high-quality, reliable tool for any gardener.

Remarkably good
For the money, these secateurs are remarkably good. They are very sharp and feel comfortable in the hand. I have been able to cut through thick branches with very little effort. The spring has become a little noisy with use but was easily sorted with a little oil. Time will tell if they are built to last but so far I am very satisfied.

Fine for the price
These are 5 times cheaper than a premium brand like Felco, so you would expect the quality to be lower. This is of course the case, but used sensibly they seem to be fine. If you deal with stems which are the size which cut with one hand without undue pressure you'll find the cutters sharp and efficient. With premium secateurs you can abuse them without ill effect. For example you might attempt a branch which you know is a little too big. You end up using two hands to squeeze them shut, or squeeze and rock up down left and right to get through the thick branch. You probably won't get away with that with these. The casting of the body, judging by the photos on the negative reviews here, is not premium grade aluminum. Therefore use a saw or loppers for branches which are too thick for easy cutting. Otherwise the casting may break. I purchased these as a second pair as sometimes my wife and I both need secateurs at the same time. These have been fine for light to medium duty pruning. They come extremely sharp and used as intended have remained that way. If they start requiring extra pressure this will mean they need sharpening. They are perfectly comfortable to use and thus far nothing has come loose. I'll keep an eye on tightness and adjust if necessary. Don't expect a premium product for bargain price and be sensible with them. Recommended.

Good weight and comfortable
It’s not too heavy as some can be, a good weight to hold. Also has comfortable handles and was great for cutting the stems on a bunch of flowers. Read the other reviews and am glad I decided on these. Certainly a good product and price. Make your gardening experience easier. Enjoy!
