This jig saw works very well. built very good, fits in the hand just right, easy to cut straight, curves, etc. blade change is very easy , quick. Price is reasonable for this level of quality built tool. Would definitely recommend this Bosh Jig Saw

I have has this jigsaw for a couple months now and it is easily the best purchase I've made in my woodworking pursuits. I used to cut everything with hand saws or borrow my friends power tools for cutting, but this makes it so I never have to do that again. The saw is accurate, easy to use, and gets the job done. A recommendation I have is always watch the actual blade for accuracy and not the metal cutting guide on the front. This will ensure the best cut and will keep your cuts consistent with the warps that may arise on your blades (although you should definitely replace any warped blades). As for the blade it comes with, that will get most jobs done but consider getting a blade expansion pack for only a couple more dollars. Its worth it.

I use the jigsaw for cuts that cannot be done on a bandsaw and for quick cuts. All of my projects involve hardwoods -- mostly mesquite which is harder than pecan, hickory, and oak. The Bosch jigsaw is comfortable to hold. I have been able to cut through every hardwood piece so far. I have two complaints about this jigsaw. First, the notch used for targeting the cut line is far enough from the blade that as the saw is turned, you are no longer tracking on the line. It's fine for nearly straight lines, but it's very difficult to know where the blade is in relation to the notch once the cut curves. It can be very difficult to make fine cuts without frequently stopping and lining up the blade. I only use this saw for rough cuts because of this problem. My second complaint is that the jigsaw vibrates a lot. I gave it 4/5 stars because the vibration is less likely to be a brand issue. I'm guessing most jigsaws would vibrate with the workload I put it through. I don't know if longer skids would add stability. It's a decent jigsaw, but it's difficult to use with finer cuts.

I'm a wannabee rough woodworker who enjoys designing & building stuff. After 30+ years, I finally decided to replace my corded power drill. I selected the Bosch JS260 jigsaw because of the excellent reviews. It has surpassed my expectations. The method of installing and removing the blades is much easier and safer with this saw than with my old relic. It feels comfortable in my hand and it appears to be very solidly made. The cut depth control is easy to use. With the Bosch blades I ordered (no blades were included with the saw), it has cut through heavy gauge sheet metal roofing with ease and minimal vibration. Cutting 3/4" plywood and 5/4 x 4 PT is a breeze. Great value!

It's the Lexus of jigsaws. I only use Bosch blades , this is an incredible piece of engineering. I'm amazed of the radius this machine can cut & never break a blade. Somebody stayed awake at night designing the Bosch JS260.

This tool is strong. I worried and considered getting the stronger model - but this does the job! It easily cuts through 2x4 standard pine lumber, 1/2" melamine and plywood. I've used it with proper blades to cut plastic and metal as well. So glad I bought this.
