Blender is worth it!
I bought this as a gift and my daughter loves it! The Retro blender is sleek, easy to use, blends perfectly. It is a little more expensive but completely worth it.

Love the color and functionality. So far, powerful blends, smoothly and quietly. Easy to clean. I don't miss the glass from my previous blender. A bit expensive but it's worth it.

Bright RED LED flashes, NEVER stops unless unplugged: a horrible "nanny feature."
Everything about this product was beautiful and perfect until... I plugged it in and saw they have an annoying, distracting "nanny" feature: a perpetually flashing red LED on the dial to "warn you" that it's plugged in. You cannot turn it off. The only way you can get it to stop flashing at you is to physically yank the plug out of the wall and leave it unplugged. No other appliance I have be a toaster, a food processor, a microwave oven, etc. has a red flashing light "warning you" it's plugged in! Returned it just because of this.

I purchased the SMEG Retro Countertop Blender in cream and visually it is absolutely beautiful — it looks stunning on the counter and blends very well. The motor performance itself is excellent. However, after only light use and careful hand washing (not placed in the dishwasher), I noticed that water and small debris entered the internal cavity of the clear measuring cap/lid. The lid appears to be a double-layered plastic design, and once water gets inside, it cannot be accessed or cleaned. For a premium appliance at this price point, this is disappointing from a hygiene perspective. The blender body functions perfectly, but the lid design allows moisture ingress during normal washing. If SMEG improves the lid sealing, this would be a 5-star product. As it stands, buyers should be aware of this potential issue.

Completes my set of toaster, coffee maker, and now the blender. Pricey but the quality is worth it. Firm believer in you get what you pay for and this is a good example. Smeg is not only durable but looks very stylish on my counter
