I spent a lot of time researching portable Blu-Ray DVD Players and this one continually ended up in all the top reviews. The player arrived well packaged and was very easy to set up. I made the purchase so I could easily doing fitness workouts anywhere while travelling since my laptop no longer has a DVD drive. I like having the remote as it makes it easy for pausing workouts when needed. The sound and picture are actually better than what I was anticipating. It is small enough to easily tuck in a suitcase or carry on bag yet the screen is big enough for comfortable viewing. In addition to the portability, it is great that it can be hooked up to TV's as well. I think I will be getting a lot of use out of this device.

Exactly what we needed! Long trips are a little easier with this gem. I love the remote control I can use from the front seat. The picture is clear and volume levels are perfect too. I love you can play both a blue ray and DVD. We purchased the corresponding holder that fits on the headrest as well. Perfect fit and it's secure.

Nope, now the final update: The replacement they sent me has problems as well. On the 3rd movie I played, it started randomly but frequently going black and popping back on a few seconds later. I tried 3 other movies and it did it with them all. This problem is even worse than the other one as you can’t fix it by restarting the system. But at least the sound works (though you will notice no difference between volume level 50 and level 100). They offered me a 50% refund for the whole ordeal. I will bite the bullet and continue to use the one with the sound issues and just try to sit very still. Their customer service is extremely good overall (hence the 4 stars). Unfortunately their product is just not that good. Final update? They did help me perform a firmware update, but it didn’t help. Through trial and error, I discovered the issue was in the hardware. My device didn’t like to be tilted or jostled, which is a problem considering I purchased it to watch blu-rays in bed. The disc never skipped, but the sound would fade in and out as I tilted it and would eventually cut out entirely. I could then fix the issue by laying it flat and restarting. After informing them of this, they immediately offered to replace the machine. It was an unexpected but very welcome move on their part. My product may have been defective, but they really do strive for great customer service. I feel now that what I perceived as an accusation of using pirated movies was nothing more than a breakdown in translation, as English is clearly not their first language. I hope the new machine works better, but for their efforts to provide me with the best service, they get 5 stars. 2nd update: After informing them that the factory reset didn’t work and that letting it rest seemed to fix the issue, they basically accused me of using pirated discs. “Only use genuine DVDs and blu-rays” they say. So maybe the system is reading them wrong and thinks they’re pirated and that’s why it shuts off the audio. Restarting reboots the disc, they say, and it will read again. Update: After owning and using only intermittently for a few months, it has started experiencing audio issues. The sound will randomly completely drop out and the only way to fix it seems to be to stop and shut it off for a while. It makes no difference if it’s an older or newer DVD or blu-ray. It’s also not optimized to play movies with the new Cinavia audio DRM. When I contacted them asking if there was a firmware update, they told me to do a factory reset to try to fix it, which tells me they probably don’t have one. This is what I get for buying a product from a company I’ve never heard of the save a few bucks. Should they be able to resolve this issue I will post again, but for now be warned. Buy cheap, get cheap. Initial review: This functions exactly as I had hoped. It plays Blu-Rays and DVDs, plus other functions I’m unlikely to use. I got this just for the Blu-Ray. Anyhow, it works great. The picture is clear, the screen is a great size, and the sound is good. It’s definitely better with headphones, but all such systems are. A defining feature for me: it actually remembers where you were when turned off. This should be a standard feature in every one of these on the market, but sadly it isn’t. It’s new, so I can’t speak to its longevity yet, but so far I’m very happy. One minor complaint: there’s no skip/rewind/fast forward buttons on the device itself. To use these functions you need to use the supplied remote. For me, who 95% of the time will be using this in my lap in bed, this is a bit of a nuisance, but not enough for me to dock it a star.

Using the controls without the remote is frustrating and difficult. Worse, after only a few months it is stuck in "waiting" mode, and completely unusable. The picture quality was good while it lasted.

The instruction on how to charge the player was not clear. Requested by email three times on how to do it and was not responded. The image was bright.

I was surprised by the picture quality on this product. I wasn't expecting much, since I had never heard of this brand, but I found the picture quality to be really great. A couple of things I think could be improved are sound quality for voice and how audio behaves when this unit is plugged into an external video display (like a projector). First, the sound quality of voice. Though I found the sound quality to be very good overall, for some reason, any kind of voice, like dialogue comes across very low in volume and flat (lacking dynamics). Second, when I plugged the unit into an external display via the HDMI port the audio continues to play from this player as well. There doesn't seem to be a mute that only effects the player. I would expect the audio to bemuted automatically when connected via HDMI, or I would expect a way to mute the player's audio manually without also muting the audio going out through the HDMI. Other than these two things I am pretty happy with this player.

We ordered this portable bluray/DVD player to replace a 20 year old DVD player. We use this on road trips and play the sound from the headphone jack to the sound system in our truck. Our old player has been failing for years. We purchased a replacement DVD player previously, but found that the sound output from the headphone jack was too low, and not audible when played through the vehicle sound system. However, this player works very well! The sound output is perfect for the audio input in our truck. The picture is clear. The player loads quickly. We are excited to have this for our upcoming road trip. The player seems to be made well and we are hopeful that it will Hopefully this will hold up well and be durable.

I purchased this model because my prior BluRay player had poor quality and sounded like a jet engine! This one is really slick-nice slim design, big screen and gorgeous image. Looks like you are in the theater. My 7 year-old has mastered it, so it is straight forward (but he is super tech-savy). There is an audible whir when you play it, but it so much quiter than my last BluRay player, I will not complain too much. Arrived quickly and very well packaged. I recommend purchasing a case that is padded for travel (the one suggested is not), so you have room for the cables, remote and charger.
