This is honestly one of the best purchases I’ve made. The projector works great in my living room, even during the day. The IMAX enhanced feature is amazing—movies with IMAX picture quality look next level on this Xgimi Horizon S Max. The sound is also superb. You really don’t need to connect a soundbar because the built-in Harman Kardon speakers are powerful and give an immersive experience. I also love that it has an inbuilt stand, which makes it easy to carry around and set up anywhere. Overall, I’m super happy with this purchase. If you’re looking for a proper replacement for a TV or want to set up in living room at a great price, just go for it!

wonderful projector xgimi horizon s max...with highest brightness..and super picture quality..with imax enhanced..and dolby vision ..only downside is lack of netflix

I have been using xgimi horizon 4k from last 2 yrs. One major concern is that there is no software update. Worst part is it doesn't support netflix in 2025. Really xgimi? Is that wise decision. While purchasing they assured that it will be taken care. But I regret my decision. Do not buy xgimi and don't trust them.

excellent projector horizon ultra......super clarity.....no regret after buying it..only the down side is netflix is not supported...i have still 4k firestick which actually sorts my problem

I am writing this updated review because XGIMI is not just a brand with terrible after-sales service—they are actively deceptive, highly incompetent, and completely disregard their Indian customers. Previously, I posted a review about my XGIMI Horizon Pro 4K Projector (purchased for a premium ₹1,90,000) completely dying after just two years. I highlighted the shocking reality: they have ZERO official service centers in India, no doorstep support, and originally told me to ship a 2-Lakh product to another country at my own expense. Here is the infuriating update: After my initial review went live, XGIMI panicked. They reached out, explicitly ASKED ME TO REMOVE THE REVIEW, and promised to take the product in to fix it. Wanting my expensive device working again, I agreed. I knew the projector was out of warranty, and I made it crystal clear that I was fully READY TO PAY whatever it cost to get it repaired. What followed was 8 MONTHS of false hope and complete incompetence. They took the product, claimed they analyzed the issue, and told me it had to be sent to China because the required spare parts simply weren't available in India. We waited patiently. After holding my projector hostage for 8 months—on top of the 4 months wasted during our initial discussions (bringing the total wait time to ONE FULL YEAR)—they finally returned the projector to me. The result? It was completely untouched. They returned the dead product and simply stated, "It cannot be fixed." Let that sink in. A brand selling "premium" electronics for nearly ₹2 Lakhs cannot even repair its own flagship device, even when the customer is offering to pay for the fix. Instead of building basic service infrastructure in one of the world's largest consumer markets, XGIMI’s strategy is to silence negative reviews, waste a year of your life, and eventually just give up. My Final Verdict: I strongly urge everyone to absolutely BOYCOTT XGIMI products in India. Do not fall for the glossy spec sheets or marketing. If you buy from XGIMI, you are buying a highly expensive, disposable toy. When it inevitably fails, you will be left stranded, lied to, and dragged through months of mental harassment, only to be handed back a ₹1,90,000 paperweight. To XGIMI: Your complete lack of technical competence and your deceptive tactics are a disgrace. A premium product means absolutely nothing when backed by zero accountability and non-existent customer support. Take your Indian customers seriously, or stop selling here.

The pros: the auto screen cover is great image is pretty dang good even on a regular white 120" screen. auto focus and auto keystone is nice (but any little movement will cause it to try and rekey. got a stand which did help. Also fixed the camera with a different hanger and that also helped.) audio from HDMI is good auto focus works pretty nice. Good to have on the remote is a bit more "portable" with the gimbal but note the power brick is big and requires 120v so portable is relative here. Works with Home Assistant (gives more control using HA) Cons: Not as bright using just a standard white screen. perhaps a special super reflective screen maybe but i don't have that. a bit washed out with very little light so only use with low light Still aas a hard time trying to fill the screen. I have a very standard 120" screen. Side to side pivot is touchy and if you have Auto recalibrate turned on it will try to readjust the screen Note: No audio output other than HDMI. Able to get around buying a cheap HDMI audio splitter splitter requires additional power to separate audio so if this is an issue be aware. Most features are turned off by default so make sure you take a look High brightness mode (wow the noise the fan makes is unbelievable and would not recommend ever using and the change doesn't seem to be much) Not a fan of the interface, but because it's Android you can sideload apps. Able to completely redesign the interface ..or for less techy, replace using another device like a Firestick

The product was in good condition and works properly. But the box was open when arrived and the projector was already configured with somebody else account. Im giving only 1 star because I pay for a new product.

I have been researching extensively the new line of lifestyle projectors that use the new triple laser technology and decided on the XGIMI (pron. Ex-Jimmy) Horizon S-MAX, coming in at just under the 2K dollar range. Not the most expensive, not the cheapest. I read up on them and decided to lay down my hard earned dollars, and I am glad that I did. First and foremost is the ability to reproduce accurate color, that jumps out at you when it is supposed to and at the same time looks real, not like a cartoon. For instance, I like to see a football field look like a football field, with grass that actually looks like grass, and neon lights that jump out of the screen. I like to see the deep greens of a forest and the yellows of autumn. The deep blues of the ocean and the black of space! I have finally found the projector that can deliver on that wish. Additionally, XGIMI seems to have found a way to eliminate the dreaded " laser speckle " that pops up on almost every other projector available and is quite annoying, by combining a laser with a led light source, I have yet to see the slightest aberration. The quality of the image has actually earned a I-Max certification, so yes, you can tell your friends that you have a I-max theater at home. It also provides Dolby Vision support. Playing 4k content is amazing and the native resolution is 2160, real, not pixel shifted. I am a 3D addict, and this gives the most amazing 3D experience you could imagine. It is like a ride to another world. There is no drop-off in color , brightness and the image is impeccable. It is portable, although I have it mounted up on a shelf on my ceiling in my home theater. I find the separate power brick, and YES, it is a brick, to be a great engineering idea, keeping the power source and its extra heat and potential to induce 60 cycle hum into the internal audio speakers, isolated from the main board. It is easy to mount separate from the projector itself and is equipped with a pretty long power cord. The internal speakers are Harman-Kardon and sound quite good like a good Bluetooth speaker although I have it fed through a AVR with multiple HDMI inputs for 7.1 Dolby, which makes the single HDMI input a non-issue. I also have Netflix available through multiple devices which makes the lack of Netflix support also a non-issue with me. The set up was about 5 minutes, and the color out of the box is amazing. It's pretty much plug and play, as opposed to my last projector, which took about 4 months to dial in a picture which is in no way as good as this ! I have owned many projectors but never any as good as this . I suppose you can spend 5 to 6 K on a projector and it will be as good or better BUT, it will weigh 5 times more and will be 4 times as big !! This one weighs in at about 10 pounds, and looks like a cool little Bluetooth speaker. So, if you are considering this projector, I would say go for it , before the price goes up, you will be amazed. I was, and honestly, I am hard to please ! I am an actual guy who bought this projector and happen to think it is pretty awesome. I am not getting anything in return for writing this, This is my actual honest take on this product. I Love it !!! I highly recommend !!

Firstly, the image quality is great! The projector gets very bright, and I found it perfectly usable projecting a ~110" image in a room with windows during the day with just the blinds closed (darker than direct daylight, but not blacked out). Of course, the darker you can get the room, the better it looks, as with any projector. I have been projecting onto a matte beige wall and it looks way better than I thought it would without a proper screen. The image is sharp, and the auto focus works well. There is a slight screen-door effect if you look very closely at the image, but at a reasonable viewing distance I don't notice it. The colors are vibrant and the contrast looks better than the on-paper ratio would suggest. As others have mentioned, the black floor is not perfect, but I found it pretty comparable to a mid-range LCD panel. In extremely dark scenes, you will definitely see some glow, but in brighter scenes you won't notice unless you are specifically looking for it. I recommend lowering the brightness when viewing in a very dark room, as it will lower the black floor as well. The Android TV OS works well enough. It is generally fast, and streaming content from various apps (including HDR and Dolby Vision content) works as expected. The built-in speakers are fine. They are equivalent to some decent built-in speakers in a TV. I would recommend connecting an AV receiver or sound bar, or even just some Bluetooth headphones for solo viewing. Now for the issues. As of the time of writing this review, there is no way to set the projector to default to the HDMI input, so you will need to manually set the input each time if you are using a connected device. Having only one HDMI port was not an issue for me, as I use it with an AV receiver, but it might be for others. The pixel shifting mechanism makes a noticeable buzzing noise. It will vary from unit to unit, but mine sounds a bit like a mini fridge compressor. It's not very loud, but I find this noise more annoying than the white noise of the fans (which are on the quiet end for a projector). It is worth noting that ALL pixel shift projectors will make this noise to some degree, as there is a component physically moving at a very high speed. Still worth keeping in mind if you are going to place the projector near where you are sitting.
