JH-215A Bluetooth Receiver

I recently introduced this device to my mother , and while the device itself is user-friendly and works great, I noticed a couple of areas in the manual that could be improved. The step-by-step guide for setting up the device and understanding its buttons is missing a critical step: connecting the device to the phone via Bluetooth. Although the manual includes detailed Bluetooth connection instructions on a separate page, this key step isn’t included into the main setup process. It would be much helpful if this step is included into the step-by-step guide and referencing the detailed Bluetooth connection page for additional clarity. Overall the device is great—simple and easy to use. Connecting it to the car’s Bluetooth was quick and hassle-free once my mother figured out how to connect. The design makes it straightforward for anyone to use, even if they’re not very tech-savvy.

I bought this SIMOLIO Bluetooth 5.0 Receiver to connect my Android phone via bluetooth to my wired skull candy headphones in my ski helmet. No longer need to carry a 2nd device (an old ipod or old phone) just to listen to music while skiing. I also tested it with my wired Bose noise-cancelling headphones and my wired Sony over-the-ear headphones. The SIMOLIO Bluetooth 5.0 Receiver worked perfectly. I have not tested the built-in mic for hands-free call answering, but I don't really need that functionality. Setup was very simple and button control for +/- volume and prev song/next song was intuitive. It does not come with a charger, just a USB-C to USB-A charging cable, but I have several USB chargers from other devices that worked just fine. It has a small footprint and is very light. It comes with a 3.5mm AUX audio cable (male to male) which was necessary for my ski helmet. It also comes with a 3.5mm male-to-make connector which can be used in place of the AUX cable if necessary (e.g. connecting a car stereo). For $15 it is well worth it.

It worked but broke the first time we used it. The AUX part busted some how. The headphones did connect easily.

Have not tried them yet, but they make more sense than any other blutooth conncetion for your vehicle....Plus it is sturdy and compact.....way to go.

VERDICT Buy WHY It works fine as a bluetooth adapter for music and voice. I bought this for when I rent a car and drive, I can stream audio to the car. It was a bit finicky at first but after playing around with it for a while it finally worked. Streamed audio and voice sounded fine.

This Bluetooth receiver was easy to set up and works well overall. It’s not perfect, but for the price, it does what I need. Setup & Power It charges via USB or your car's cigarette lighter. I initially charged it with a wall plug until full, and now I just keep it plugged into the car while using it. It powers on manually, and once it’s on, it reconnects automatically. Pairing & Device Memory It remembers your phone after pairing and supports two devices at once—helpful if you're sharing control between driver and passenger. Connecting after turning it on takes just a few seconds. Audio Quality & Volume Music playback is decent—I'm happy with it. The sound isn’t amazing, but it’s clear enough for everyday use. One downside: the volume is lower than native car audio, so you’ll need to turn up both your phone and your stereo quite a bit to hear it well. Calls & Voice Features I didn’t notice any audio delay when making or receiving calls. Call quality was good enough to have a normal conversation, especially in a quiet car. The receiver does have call and media controls (play/pause, skip, answer), but I wasn’t able to get it to initiate calls or trigger Siri/Google Assistant. Multi-Device Use It can stay connected to two phones at once, which is great if you share your car. Charging While Playing Yes, it works while charging, no interruptions. Final Verdict If you're looking for an affordable, simple Bluetooth solution for music and calls—and don’t mind turning up the volume—this is a solid option.

The Blue-Tooth communication was established easily using a Samsung Phone and reliable through a distance of around 100' and through 3 walls! After fully charging, I ran a test for 24 hours continuously, and had no issues - I wasn't going to devote 35 hours to fully test! Sorry! Audio quality was clear, noise free, and responded to the +/- controls. I did not test the phone for calls, noise cancelling, etc. as I only used it for coupling phones to an audio mixer for dance events. All 1/8" (3.5mm) connectors and USB (A & C) connections were tested, snug and reliable. The charge indicator starts out red, and is extinguished when fully charged, but not possible to indicate the level or the amount of remaining charge. Especially for dancers bringing their music on their surgically attached cell phones with extremely worn-out 1/8" or USB-C, or Lightning connectors, the ability to connect reliably via Blue-Tooth to an audio mixer is simply FANTASTIC. IMHO Very highly recommended. At this price - get two - one for backup!

This is a pretty solid little unit. The sound quality is great, the range is impressive (it stayed connected while I left my car running and went into the gas station), overall it is great! I can't believe my car came without bluetooth from the factory, its what I get for being *ahem*frugal, but this is the perfect upgrade.

Handy little adapter, with a number of connection possibilities, in my case having an older computer, there is no built in blue tooth connection, so good to be able to add a connection so can stream from my phone. This adapter cable (approx. 70cm) plugs into the ‘aux in’ port on the control module for my Phillips desktop speakers then connected to the Bluetooth on my phone without any issue and was able to listen to the media content on my phone straight away, while the cable allows the device to be accessible. The transfer of audio quality was good, no issues there. The auto reconnection to the last connected device works as expected. The unit is a discrete size, hidden away under my monitor, having the 3.5mm jack to 3.5mm jack cable gives plenty of options for placement, just need to have access to it for charging and turning on / off. Charging is via a USB C port, with a USB A to C cable supplied. There is also a fixed 3.5mm jack to jack connector included. The volume up / down track up / down button on the device works well, along with the play / pause function of the main button, allowing control via the device only. The range is not tested very much in my application, being static on a PC; I understand being Bluetooth 5.0 it should have an effective range of about 70ft. I do have some other Bluetooth devices (such as speaker) which are old enough to have older Bluetooth standards, so being so portable the adapter can be used to upgrade other devices to improve the range and quality of connection. Quality little device, well made and giving new life to older equipment!

I have a Honda and no matter what I do I cannot get this antenna to work. The Honda system states that the device is not supported. I have examined the insufficient instructions, but they are no help in this situation. it is not an old Honda, but it simply will not connect. I cannot get this product to work and therefore I cannot recommend it.

This is quite a small sized bluetooth receiver. It can be used in many scenarios as you get the wires and adapters (3.5mm) needed to attach it to an amplifier or remove completely to plug in your wired headphones to turn them into bluetooth headphones. Battery life is pretty good and more than enough for long periods away from a charger and it is good that it is USB C socket for this. So sound quality, it is BT 5.0 which, while not 5.3, is not as bad as you may feel. This receiver does not support HD codecs which could be a negative point. I think it is a shame but this would push the cost up quite a bit. I found the sound quality good and on par with other devices like this. For the money and the build quality I feel this is not bad value for money but not the best as others are available for a few pounds less,

This is marketed as something to add bluetooth to your car stereo, but you can use this to add bluetooth to anything that accepts a 3.5mm stereo jack (i.e. a headphone style aux cable). This comes with an aux cable, a mini 3.5mm coupler and a USB-C charging cable. It's actually really useful having the detachable cable because you can connect it to pretty much anything. Being battery powered makes it very convenient - you can just plug it straight into the device with the mini coupler. The sound quality was good but not perfect. I used this to connect my Android tablet to my son's electronic dum kit and it worked perfectly.

This adapter is a good accessory to have in a slightly older car it connects via the Aux port and once up and running works very well giving a Bluetooth connection between my car and phone. Really happy I can play my music via it aswell Great product
