are you supposed to twist it to adjust once it's screwed on? I noticed 2 notches in the lens.

Once tightened by hand, it can be rotated 360°. Clockwise is best as you look at the front of the cam. As ccw can unscrew the filter.

Why is there no filter for the N4?
