I am a smoked food bbq guy and have been blown away with the results. This puts more smoke in 30 minutes on my food than my other pellet smokers and wood fired cookers do in 3 hours. We'll thought out. Super easy to clean and no open grill grate for drippings to fall through. Cold smoked cheese is excellent as well as smoked pizza. Made a better brisket than one i had won first place with on a different smoker. Stable cooking temperature delivers food faster than the wood pellet fired smokers, without the temperature swings they have trying to balance smoke and heat. negatives is the pellet hopper. Even tho it is small it's still holds more pellets than you need for a steak or burgers or a single pizza. You must fill the box for proper ignition, I bring this up because the pellet box isn't easy to remove when hot. When you are done cooking you of course turn the grill off but the pellets will continue to burn. Wish they had a little handle on the box to be able to remove them. App is excellent. Grill is sufficient in size for most items and is extremely portable. Awesome to have little bags of pellets instead of the big 40lbs. I truly believe this ended my quest for bbq smokers.

If you are wanting a smoke ring, this is not what you want. That requires a big Smoker that cooks for a long time. But this cooker is amazing, adds a wonderful smoke flavor to your food. You can air fry and smoke at the same time, so smoked fried wings are wow. Salmon turns out perfect cooked at 160° on Smoker for 45 minutes. Great flavor, very tender and juicy. Best cooker I have purchased in years and perfect for my apartment patio. I smoked some turkey legs that were amazing. I love this machine, it does so much and cooks so perfect it makes cooking easier.

I’ve cooked on a lot of grills over the years, and the Ninja OG951 Woodfire Pro Connect XL has honestly been one of the most versatile outdoor cookers I’ve used. As a firefighter, convenience matters to me because I don’t always have time to babysit a traditional smoker for hours, and this grill makes it easy to get solid results without a huge setup process. What impressed me most is how much this thing can actually do. Being able to grill, smoke, air fry, roast, and bake all in one unit makes it perfect for quick meals during days off or cooking for the crew. The woodfire pellet system adds a surprisingly good smoky flavor for an electric setup, especially on ribs, wings, burgers, and chicken. It’s not a full competition smoker, but for the convenience and speed, the flavor is honestly impressive. The Pro Connect app has also been more useful than I expected. I can monitor temps and cooking progress from inside the house or while doing other things instead of standing over the grill the entire time. The dual built-in thermometers are a huge plus when cooking different meats at once. Another thing I like is that it heats up fast compared to charcoal or traditional pellet smokers. On busy days, being able to plug it in and start cooking quickly is a major advantage. Cleanup is also easier than most smokers I’ve owned. The only downside is that because it cooks faster than a traditional low-and-slow smoker, the smoke flavor can be lighter unless you adjust temps and cook times accordingly Overall, this has been an excellent all-around outdoor cooker. It’s especially good for people who want smoked flavor and versatility without dealing with the hassle of managing a full-size smoker or charcoal grill all day.

This Ninja Woodfire XL Grill as an absolute home run for the folks at Ninja. Gone is any need for propane, no last minute trips to the gas station to refill empty propane tanks. Instead, the heat source is electric with infinite flexibility. The smoke, and hence the BBQ flavor, is introduced by just a quarter cup of pellets. This is absolutely the best of both worlds. The grill plate is absolutely non-stick which makes clean-up a breeze. Just wait for it to cool a bit after cooking and hot-soapy water with a nylon brush render it to like new condition almost instantly. I wish Ninja had included a flat griddle plate in the package but $40.00 solved that through Amazon. The unit comes fully assembled so there’s nothing to put together. I highly recommend that you run it through its paces a couple of times prior to your first cook. This will season the paint and “burn-off” and residual manufacturing chemical which might be present………..because there always is. Most importantly, the flavor is out of this world. What a grand-slam design by Ninja. I love this machine.

Pretty cool grill, I named it "Let him cook" on the app. Pros: Overall it has some neat functions, a major appeal was if you had to take an emergency bathroom break, you could turn off the grill from your phone in the bathroom! So how can you complain with that?! Overall build quality seems good, it has some heft to it but can still move it around. I grilled some burgers and they tasted great, the app makes it super easy to time your food just have to remember it is still hot even if you have it set to be timed. Cons: Connectivity, if you press the circular button in for a few seconds it will make you pair the grill, this is great as a first time setup but if you forget what holding that button does then you'll have to reconnect all over again and it takes awhile to do this, if you turn off the grill it will not reconnect until you do the process all over again from within the app. Potentially a big issue, the grill plate has a drain to remove the oil to a grease collection container. However a lot of the time the grease does not go to the back drain as it should, some kind of tilt mechanism should have been included to tilt the grill/cooking plate back so the grease easily flows out. Otherwise it is a pain to clean, I tried to tilt it slightly myself while cooking by placing a towel underneath the grill legs but when I was cleaning the whole thing later I saw some grease had gotten under the plate and near the heating element. This could potentially cause a grease fire. Other things: For this price it would have been nice if it came with a stand rack so you could cook more food above like a hotdog rack or something. Also it should have included some kind of cover. Update be careful if you like to put cheese on your burgers while the grill runs. I placed them then shut the lid to let it cook for just a little longer and the Grill fan blew my cheese off :(

Ok--well after much research about smokers etc--Finally decided on the Ninja--I'm sooo glad I did-- It really puts out lot of smoke for flavor but don't have to worry about keeping charcoals or woodchips burning and having to clean out ashes etc. The amount of ash left to dump is like a small handful. I've used this ninja 3 times with near perfect results. Yes there is a learning curve but lots of YouTube videos about using this Unit. Also unless your the type person who loves to watch food cooking closely--get the Ninja XL pro with the app for your phone--Is so easy to keep track of the cooking/smoking process and can even change cooking settings remotely --cook times cooking temps etc. If you need cook for large number of people, this Ninja is not huge but is fine for 2-4 people. Stick in the temperature probes close the lid and walk away and monitor the process from your indoor comfy chair --the lazy mans cooking grill ---and the crowning glory----sooo easy to clean the removable grill--has built in grease drain so once grill cools can wipe clean with paper towel get some of the grease off then just quick wash in the sink and your good to go.Non stick finish seems real durable but don't use metal grill tools may scratch it. I highly recommend this Ninja grill
