This was a big hit with my 7 year old nephew. He actually started with digging out the dinosaur bones first before attempting the VR. Digging out the bones kept him busy, and he seemed to enjoy the amount of effort it took. Assembling it required stronger adult hands, to snap the pieces in place. The VR experience was really cool, the experiences were a bit shorter than I would have liked and it wasn’t interactive, more like a video that you watch, but overall it was an awesome gift, that the kids will love.

Only able to use the free game that came with it once then have to purchase a $50 game. Now I can't find the free game on my phone to use it at all

Abacus Brands STEAM Dino Dig VR - Virtual Reality Kids Science Kit, Book and Interactive STEAM I had my 13 year old grandson test it as it will be a gift for my 6 year old great grandson. He said the goggles worked really well, but the app had issues. On the T-Rex chase all he ever got was a black screen. He reset, closed everything down and restarted it a few times, but could never get it to work. Other than that he enjoyed the VR games and that was his first experience with VR as well. The rest of the set looks like it's good quality, obviously we didn't use those since it will be a future Christmas or birthday gift. My grandson did have one complaint about the headset and that was it falling forward due to the weight of the phone. He was using my hubby's phone which is a standard size Samsung android phone. My grandson doesn't think the 6yr old will be able to enjoy it with the weight of the phone. I guess will see. Hoping his parents phones are lighter. So right now mixed review. Great for older child if they fix the app. Not sure about younger child due to the weight issue. Overall the 13 yr old had fun playing with it. He asked if it comes with anime or racing, if yes he wants one, LOL

I had low expectations for this product, honestly. I missed that it was intended for ages 4 and up, and when I saw that, I expected low quality. The toy and "experiences" were actually much better than I expected. We have tried several dino kits in this price range and have been underwhelmed, to put it nicely. This, however, is nicely packaged (exactly as shown) and the contents are right in line with the packaging. The dig out dino is fun, and although the tools included are not high quality, neither is the price, so no surprises there. My son is 9 and he found the booklet a little simplistic, but he still really enjoyed it. No surprises, the VR headset isn't the best on the market, but it meets the need. I was surprised -- and shouldn't have been -- that a phone was required.

I bought this as a gift for my grandson and he can't put it down, he's so happy with this gift! Good price, fast shipping!
