10 Pack - Premium Hevy Duty Drip Irrigation Watering Ring for 1/8" Inch Tubing, Halo, Circle, Great for Greenhouse & Commercial Grower Applications (10" Diameter Ring, 10)

Like most people I got stake drip emitters, and being a novice I didn't realize that the water wouldn't spread to all the roots. It was only after I had to dig out one of my plants that I noticed half the soil was moist and the other half dry as a bone, a huge short coming for normal drip emitters. I bought 2 10 packs of the 10" rings and they work awesome! They have 5-6 emitters in a single ring which ensures better water dissemination resulting in healthier and happier plants. I buried my rings under about an inch of soil so you can't even see them. Highly recommend! Just a heads up though, when you slip the 1/4" tubing over the inlet make sure to seat the end of the tube all the way, so it completely covers the inlet tube. You'll hear a faint "snap" when you seat it properly. And as an added precaution, wrap a zip tie around the tube after it's seated.

I picked up these Drip Irrigation Watering Rings to address two issues in my balcony garden. First, I picked them up to bury in my grow bags and large pots to hopefully prevent fungus gnats and keep my plants hydrated. Adult gnats tend to lay eggs in the top 1 ½ to 2 inches of moist top soil. Burying the water supply below that surface should help to discourage the laying of gnat eggs. Secondly, because I don’t have access to a running water source on my balcony, I set up an automatic watering system for my GreenStalk planter that uses a barrel water reservoir. I wanted a solution that would allow me to install the automatic system without running lines to each pocket, which would create chaos and impede the mobility and servicing of the GreenStalk planter, but instead provide water to the top reservoir watering tray as designed. All in all, I think these watering rings will address my issues. Installation can be tricky because the ring has a 1/8 inch connection, and my automatic watering system has a 1/4 inch connection. Most people see this as a problem. It is not. I used a 1/8 to 1/4 inch barbed adapter to connect the ring to my watering system. The adapters are inexpensive and resolve the sizing mismatch dilemma. Amazon should pair the 1/8 to ¼ adapters with the watering rings as a suggested purchase so that people will know that there is an easy solution to the connector mismatch issue.

Little pricey, but no problems. It will take some patience to install. I tried 1/4" drip hose...too big ID. The line needs to be 1/8" ID. I bought 1/8" clear sylicone hose and used a 3" piece between the drip ring and my 1/4" drip line. It also adds a flex point between the two.

Work great for watering plants

I grow inside using 5 gallon and 3 gallon fabric pots. I saw these are made in 5 inch and 10 inch, I ordered one of each just to check them out and make sure the sizes were correct for my need. Using a gravity, fed waterline, I connected it to the 10 inch and everything worked well. When I connected the 5 inch, although it was dripping out all of the holes water was also leaking significantly near the connection. I attached a video showing it. I assume that I just happened to get a bad 5 inch ring, because the 10 inch worked so well. So, I am going to try these again because the price and product are good but I am disappointed to have drive out of town to UPS store to ship back this one watering ring. hope this helps someone!
