Aerostar Air Filter 20x25x4 MERV 8 AC Filter, HVAC, Furnace Filter, 6 Pack

Have been using these for several years. They seem to work well and are a good value relative to others.

Right size and are keeping the air clean as best as possible in my house.

Great filters at a great price. I’ve been using these for 2 years now and they have held up well. They seem to collect a lot of particles and still allow airflow to be maintained.

I ordered these as furnace filters of the 20x25x4 variety have become way too expensive since the pandemic. They are now about 40USD for one, where they were about half that previously. After much research, I decided to go with the MERV8 stnadard instead of the MPR1000 (MERV11) since the furnace does not require it and the amount of dust collected means that I change filter between four and six times per year. Overall, these look very similar to the name brand ones. Though the cardboard frame seems a bit thinner, it seems to be strong enough so far. The paper and the wire seem about the same. When installing though, I discovered that the 4in thickness is about 1/2" thinner than the name brand ones, which may be an issue if your frame will not hold them in place. Please note that these arrived in a cardboard box with no wrapping inside.... just six bare filters in a cardboard box. If the box gets wet, these will be ruined. If you can get these delivered dry, they may work for your furnace air filter frame depending on the thickness adaptability. I am waiting to check them next month to see if they are getting darker from all of the dust which it the main issue for us. I will update this review if they are worse than expected, but they seem to be stable in our Aprilaire air intake frame. I am cautiously rating these four stars for now. As always, your mileage and preferences may vary...

I love that it comes in a large stock supply. Most places you can only order 1-2 at a time and there’s a markup. This is a great value when comparing to other places. Major bonus - Amazon saved the day with next day arrival as we were having AC teams do some work and needed these in hand quickly. The installation is done within seconds. Great air flow for allergy sensitive family members, and you can’t hear it at all. Very quiet. They’re sturdy and last us 3 months - could go longer, but we foster animals often and need extra pure air for an allergenic family member. These are wonderful and efficient. Thanks!

The pictures tell the tale. Advertised as 20" x 25" x 4", but actual measurements are 19.5" x 24.5" x 4". Against my better judgement, I installed one of the filters for months ago. I removed it today, and it still looks brand new. It is not filtering anything because the air is getting sucked around the filter and not through it. Unfortunately, I bought a case of these, and every one of them is useless. This is blatant fraud in my eyes. Others must have complained as well, because when I purchased these, the description was shown as "Aerostar 20x25x4 MERV 8 Pleated Air Filter, Made in the USA, 6-Pack " but during this review I see they changed the description to reflect the actual dimensions. "Aerostar 20x25x4 MERV 8 Pleated Air Filter, Made in the USA 19 1/2" x 24 1/2" x 3 3/4", 6-Pack". I included a picture of the email confirmation showing the description that was listed when I purchased these filters. Size is the single most important spec when buying filters, and these sizes were woefully misrepresented.

Great deal for these. I pay much more when I go to a hardware store. Just put one of them in the furnace and it seems to be doing it's job.
