great for the car lover.
Another fun and random Christmas present for my car fanatic husband. He has been doing an amazing job with all our repairs, but he doesn't have a lot of these novelty tools. This is cool and fun! They came today, and of course he opened the box because he had to see them first!Pros:1) they are small and easy to carry. This is handy if you have a husband who wants to keep these in the glovebox so you just have them and don't have to search through their tools to find them.2) easy to use. Really these are pretty simple and self explanatory. IF you don't know how to use it, YouTube University will teach you in 3 minutes.3) sturdy enough to be useful. Not overly sturdy, but honestly, these measure tread. You shouldn't be too hard on these.Cons:1) I don't have any cons. I love the two pack of these. PERFECT!

Know when to rotate your tires.
Keep even tire wear. Monitor every few months. Measure with these units. Keep a log. Know when to rotate your tires, or replace a pair. 2/32-inch is the legal wear-out limit, but only a fool drives around on bald tires. For your own personal safety, and your passengers, and others on the public roadways; replace worn tires at 4/32-inch remaining, to be safe and avoid hydroplaning in the rain. Avoid the ditches in the winter. Keep a unit in the car at all times. Or be cheap and ignorant, wind up in the ditch, and make the tow truck operator and collision shop prosper. Knowledge is power. Be a smart cookie.

Almost identical to tire shop measurements
I got this to measure my Michelin tire. It was almost identical to what worker from the tire shop told me.I got one tire 4/32 and the rest are 2/32 so I decided to check up before heading to tire shop.It was easy to read the result. It came with two gauges so I gave one as a gift to my friend.Overall, it is a simple design but it works.P.s: This product is offered for testing.

Never Burned Again!
Iโve gotten the call from the maintenance shop that my tread depth is XXX and I need new tires. This tool gives me a completely accurate reading before I take the vehicle in. I trust this more than rulers, coins, or pretty much any other urban legend. Tried it on new and old tires and am happy I got this. Great price and value!

Simple fail safe mechanical design
A little hard to read. Need young eyes or bifocals. Measures in 32s of an inch and in mm. Very handy.
User
Wish I had passed these up.
The gauges are extremely hard to read (maybe partly these old eyes). One of them has enough friction on the barrel so the reading doesn't change after pulling it off the tire, the other one is so loose that there is no way pull it off the tire and make an accurate reading. I thought I was reading 5/32 on all tires, but the tire shop read 3/32 on the back and 4/32 on the front.
