Great size for whatever annual Crock-Pot events
When only the Crock-Pot will do this is a good Crock-Pot. Hasn't scorched the bottom of anything. Holds a substantial portion. Travels well. Cleans as well as any giant Crock-Pot, removable liner that doesn't quite fit in a double sink. Dishwasher safe. The outside seemingly cleans up easy enough. A great value for the price point.

Good old stand-by for basic slow-cooking
Just used for the first time and worked as it should. I bought this to replace the exact same model that burned out after years and years of use. I like the fact it is no frills- less to go wrong. Also, buying the same model provides me with an extra back-up crock and lid if I want to prep meals or in case of breakage. The size is just right for our average meal for 6 persons plus a little leftovers for lunch the next day for 2. You can reach a simmer on low. The 'low' setting must also be monitored for longer cooks during warm weather as cooking temps can get higher than expected (avoid by lowering to 'warm' as needed).

Simple and Reliable
I bought this because I previously had one that got pretty old. Had to get rid of it because it is not meant to melt plastic! Who would think??? So I got another one. Simple to use, dependable, and a real classic. Easy to clean (as long as you don't melt plastic in it ! ) 😄 The generous 7 quarts size allows me to make larger portions. I find the cooking levels are accurate. A real blessing.

Perfect! Perfect! Perfect!
I have NEVER written a review on anything, and I have purchased hundreds of items online over the years, but this slow cooker has inspired me to give my humble opinion. I didn't think there was such a thing as a bad slow cooker. So when my last slow cooker bit the dust during the holidays last year, I just bopped on to Amazon and figured that I would pick up a medium of the road slow cooker for a reasonable price and all would be well with the world, once again. Since I was planning on serving a beef roast for Christmas dinner, I wanted to make sure that I got one big enough and it wouldn't take 15 hours to cook. I quickly browsed through the various slow cookers on Amazon, read a few reviews and purchased what I thought was a lovely cooker - Crock-Pot SCCPVL610-S 6-Quart Programmable Cook & Carry Oval Slow Cooker, Stainless Steel. It was only $50.00 and I figured that it would fit the bill, nicely. Boy, was I wrong! Right out of the box, Christmas Day, I could tell that this slow cooker and I weren't going to get along. It heated up way too quickly, ran HOT the entire cooking time (on low), and by the time I was ready to serve dinner most of it was stuck to the side of the cooker. Dinner tasted slightly burnt, the veggies were WAY over cooked and even after soaking the darn thing for 2 hours after serving the meal, I never could get all the stuck on crud off the sides. Well, needless to say, I'm not the brightest bulb on the tree sometimes, so I thought that I would give this worthless piece of junk another few tries before I finally gave up and threw it in the dumpster. Ah, but now this is where the good part starts...Back to Amazon to look at slow cookers. (I absolutely LOVE Amazon and my Prime membership) This time I decided that I was going to REALLY read all the reviews, compare and then make a logical, fact based decision. I immediately liked the reviews I read for this slow cooker - Hamilton Beach 33182 8-Quart Oval Slow Cooker, Black - but was somewhat concerned by a couple of people who said that it "ran hot". Having had that experience, I didn't want to repeat it, so I continued looking at every slow cooker under God's green Earth. I kept thinking that there had to be something wrong with a cooker that was so big and yet so inexpensive, so I kept looking. After another couple of hours of reading, debating and analyzing, I decided that I would give this slow cooker a try. Well, it arrived safe and sound in just a couple of days, of course. (Still love Amazon) And I proceeded to use it today for the first time. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS SLOW COOKER! The temperature was perfect! The dinner was perfect! The clean up was perfect! And, once again, I am in love with my slow cooker and can hardly wait for Winter so I can give it a really good work out. If you are reading this and considering purchasing this slow cooker, BUY IT! It's absolutely wonderful. Good temperature, great size, fantastic price and all around, I think the best slow cooker I have ever owned. I'm considering buying another one as a back up. Okay, now you know why I never write reviews...There just isn't enough hours in the day. But this product was well worth the time. :)

Simple, easy and soooooo good!
I received this today. After a quick wash, I cooked a whole 6 lb. seasoned chicken for 4 hours on low, but started out on high for one hour, then switched to low. I added some cubed onions, celery and carrots under the chicken. Sooooooo good! So tender and juicy. Simple and easy with just one knob and low, high and warm settings.....just what I wanted.

Works great for our family needs!
We recently started making our own bone broth and our current 6 quart crockpot wasn’t large enough for the amount of broth we wanted to make, since we use broth for many recipes and we even enjoy drinking it as is because it’s so rich and flavorful! I purchased this to help make a larger batch with the large beef bones we get, plus all the vegetables we add, and it’s been great now that we have 2 crockpots going simultaneously! So far we’ve used it for a 60 hour cook time for the broth and we plan to use it quite often to slow cook bone broth and also large batches of soups that we stock up in the freezer for cold weather easy meals. The size of this crockpot is great and it’s easy to clean!

Great so far
Had this for a bit now. Wanted to make sure it was used some before reviewing. Had another crock-pot brand crock that lasted maybe 10 years, then the ceramic cracked somehow so I replaced it with this one. Firstly the color is really nice, a deeper red almost leaning into garnet more than say a cranberry at least to my eyes. Really pretty color. It feels just as sturdy as my old one. Almost the same. Gets hot quicker than my old one though which is nice. It can hold a decent amount. I’ve crocked many a large roasts and they all turn out perfect. Everything I have made in here has been great. Feels like a good value and should last for a long time if it’s like the old one which it appears to be with a slight upgrade. To me it’s bigger than it appears, maybe from the oval shape. Fits great on my small counter. Always measure is my advice to make sure you have the space. Tldr; do recommend!
