A very usefull device
The use of a second monitor has been an integral part of my computing experience for a few years now in both desktop and laptop (at home or work). I have recently begun contemplating the use of a third display (and possibly more) ever since I have begun using virtual machines extensively. To my dismay I found out that the laptop I use as my main machine (3 yr old model) does not support the use of both its graphics output ports (VGA + HDMI) at the same time. Conveniently enough at roughly the same time period I came across the entry for the plugable USB2 UGA multi-display adapter in amazon. I thought it was worth a try as the price was not prohibitive for a bit of experimentation. I was positively impressed by the email I received before the product was delivered pointing me towards more online information as well as the latest drivers (thumbs up for good customer support). When the UGA adapter arrived, the installation process in Windows 7 Ultimate went without any problems whatsoever. The integration with the graphics interface in windows is flawless as far as I am concerned. On the down side I have observed a bit of a lag upon occasion on the third display (the one connected on the USB port via the adapter) expecially when playing back video on this display with loads of other things going on in the laptop. I take this to mean that there is some computing overhead in the use of the UGA adapter but I have not looked into this any further as it does not bother me for my intended use of the product. I find it really interesting (and convenient for my case) that when I am running a virtual machine (for example linux) and I have this displayed in the monitor connected to the UGA adapter there is no detectable lag even when playing video in the virtual machine (the device driver for the adapter is still running in the host system which for my case in Win 7). Summarizing, I find the UGA adapter very usefull with right pricing and up to spec operation.

Very impressed - best solution for laptops
After doing some research on the Web I ordered two Plugable UGA-165 USB 2.0 to VGA/DVI/HDMI adaptors as they seem to score the best with other users. Well, I am happy to say I was not disappointed. Actually I am absolutely delighted with this product's performance and quality of hardware and software. Hardware wise everything works exactly as advertised. Software installation went without a single glitch, and it perfectly integrated itself into Windows7 and my existing Matrox TripleHead2Go environment. No effect on CPU usage, RAM usage is about 1% extra to what it was before installation. Simply put - it does what I wanted, it does it very well and I would definitely recommend this piece of kit. My work laptop - Lenovo T410 (Core i5 M520 @2.40GHz, 4GB RAM, Windows7 Enterprise) My total combined monitor space: - laptop monitor (as main) 1400x900 rez - three 1280x1024 monitors connected through TripleHead2Go Digital - two 1280x1024 each connected through Plugable UGA-165

Easy and affordable video wall
We have used four Plugable USB to HDMI with an app called USB Wall (from Monitors AnyWhere) to create a 2x2 videowall. The USB Wall app utilizes the Plugable devices in a way that windows identifies the four screens as one big screen which we could either extend or clone with our primary screen. (See in the video attached here) Please note: we had to uninstall DisplayLink driver and use OSBASE driver instead. I'm giving this product only 4 stars as I wouldn't recommend it for HD videos as its refresh rate is not the best, but for lower resolution content it works very well. If you do need to run a Full HD video, I would recommend on a device called LKV325 or MiniPoint USB.

excellent product
I was sent a link to an up-to-date driver before the product arrived (which it did, exactly when promised). With this pre-installed, I connected the adapter to a 3rd monitor (Dell E207WFP 1050x1680) and it was working within seconds. I continued to work on 2 monitors whilst my grandaughter watched cbeebies iplayer on the 3rd, with no loss of quality. In everyday use, having the extra screen has increased my productivity no end (especially since discovering the windows key/shift L/R arrow shortcut). I rarely leave reviews, but feel I should in this case, as I can heartily recommend this product. Computer spec: INTEL CORE I5 3330 PROCESSOR - 8GB DDR3 1333MHZ MEMORY - NVIDIA GT 620 1GB GRAPHICS CARD - WINDOWS 7.

Great for having the connectivity for a large number of monitors on your computer
Purchased two of these for an old Lenovo with only one USB port working, plugged these into a USB expander that was plugged into the single port on the Lenovo, drivers loaded (windows 10) and they both came up, configured the monitors to expanded desktop and the worked just perfect. This is a great product for adding on monitors to a laptop. The final config of the old Lenovo is these two usb 2.0 Video adapters (on DVI) plus a standard VGA monitor and the laptop screen.

Works well with my MacBook
I have been using this for about 2 weeks with a MacBook Pro 7.1 (mid 2010) running Mavericks (10.9.5) with 8 GB memory. I have two 27 inch dell monitors attached, the plugable is connected via the USB port using an DVI connector and the other monitor is connected via the normal video port. I do not run games or anything needing rapid graphics. I simply have a lot of windows open at the same time e.g.mail, word, excel, calendar, powerpoint, safari and photoshop. So far I have had no problems and have my desktop extended over all three screens. It seems very stable I have not had any crashes even though I have disconnected and reconnected the monitors without switching off my MacBook.

Excellent product
I detected that that this company obviously strives for good customer relations when I was doing some research on this Plugable UGA-165 USB 2.0 before buying. There were hints of 'doom and gloom' there, particularly with Windows 8, but I went ahead. I am pleased to say that I had absolutely no problem with the installation. I thought I did when I plugged in and the screen was blank. It was then I noticed a window had opened in my No.1 screen. I clicked on that and the subsequent 'Agreement' and the No.2 screen lit up! Nothing could have been easier. My machine is a Dell XPS8500 running 64 bit Windows 8. The two monitors are Dell. Thank you very much. I have used a second monitor for many years and when I upgraded from an XP machine to 8, I missed it tremendously .

Eccellente

Awesome product and works with Mac
This is an awesome product. I have been trying to run a third monitor on my late 2014 mac mini for weeks now. Apple only allows two monitors to be run on this mac mini. After trying several adapters from usb to vga, dvi, or hdmi, I was to the point of giving up. I ordered this video adapter and it worked perfectly. It's basically plug and play with the exception of a simple download of the driver - if that makes any sense. In other words, Just a matter of a fast download and a click to active. The process is clearly outlined in the instructions provided. It works perfectly with a crystal clear picture and shows up as a third monitor in my display settings. Highly recommended.
