Perfect slip on Alaska boot. Foot warm but not too warm
I love these boots and they are getting hard to find since Keen made an Anchorage IV version. These are my go to winter pull on boot here in Alaska. 200 grams of insulation makes for warm feet but not swamp foot. Well made, warm, good traction on these. Weight is good, super comfy and tread lasts along time. I cycle between 2 pairs and get about 18 months of daily use on them each time

Great, but not well insulated
Great boots. Very comfortable. Easy to put on and take off. Traction is great and they keep my feet dry. Not breathable though, so feet can get kinda sweaty. Insulation is minimal though, so don't buy them expecting a snow boot.

Quality of sole is terrible
Terribly disappointed at the poor quality soles. I was looking for a replacement for my 20 yr old Merrill 6’’ boots which I love but they no longer manufacture. I thought these Keen boots were the answer but sadly - the heels are slowly peeling away and cracking anfter just an handful of uses. They are past the return time so unfortunately I am stuck with them. Please don’t the same mistake I did. See pics.

Not overly tight on narrow feet, comfy, warm.
So far, I’m loving these. I treated them ahead of time and have been able to use in 12” snow for hiking. I was skeptical if they’d actually keep my sock dry at the elastic mesh part, but they’ve done the job on several multi-mile hikes with only occasional deep snow contact. The upper is glued to the sole, so I expect that to be the eventual fail point. I’ve had some success with other shoes, using contact adhesive to re-assemble. Hoping to get 1-2 years of use out of these before that happens, but wanted to put a review out there before we get to that point. This do fit reasonably, with breathing room, but I have longer, narrow feet. They don’t fit as snugly as my Blundstones, but I’m OK with that!

These boots plus Huberds shoe grease = awesomeness
These boots are very well made and hold up well. I have bought the brown shirt a year ago and the light gray ones this week. Both pairs looked a little scuffed when I received them, but a little Huberds shoe grease makes them look great (although a little darker). They are comfortable down to at least 10 degrees F ( F is easier to spell than faren-something) but I haven't written them in colder than that. They are very comfortable once you get them pulled on. If 11.5 Targhee boots fit you, 11.5 in these will be perfect. The are very good repeling water as long as it doesn't get high enough to go through the stretchy side panels. The texture of the tread is great for not slipping, not so good for tracking mud on to your wife's clean floors. But on the plus side, when you are hiding out in your shop you have more time to write Amazon reviews. TLDR: buy these boots and a can of Huberds shoe grease... and maybe one of those shoe cleaner things with the brushes on them.
