Clean, Chunky, and Exactly What Coco Chips Should Be
If you grow plants seriously, you know substrate is not glamorous. It is infrastructure. It is foundation. And bad foundation shows up fast. These coco chips are the good kind. Nice chunky consistency. Not pulverized dust pretending to be structure. The pieces are large enough to create real aeration, but not so oversized that they turn your pot into a bark pile. They hydrate evenly, expand properly, and rinse out clean without that murky runoff you sometimes get with lower grade material. They hold moisture without suffocating roots. Drain well. Mix beautifully with perlite or finer coco if you are dialing in a custom blend. If you run aroids, orchids, or anything that appreciates airflow, this stuff behaves. No weird smell. No excessive fines. No surprise debris. It is not flashy. It is not hyped. It just does what it is supposed to do, which in plant world is high praise. Five stars because good substrate makes everything above it better.

Love coco chips
Love this stuff for my house plants. Easy to hydrate in water and break down. Mix with some perlite and some potting soil and got gold for your plants.!

Solid coco chips for aroid mixes
Good value and expands nicely once hydrated. I use coco chips in my chunky aroid mix and these have worked well so far. Chunk size is pretty consistent and they don’t seem overly dusty compared to some others I’ve tried. At this point I’ve bought an unreasonable amount of coco products, but these are solid for the price.

Perfect for Chunky Soil Mixes 🌿✨
I use these coco chips to make my own chunky soil mix, and they’re fantastic! The organic coconut adds such a nice, light, airy feel to the soil. It makes watering so much easier — the drainage is perfect, and my plants absolutely love it. I add these chips to almost every plant I repot, whether it’s for orchids, aroids, or just to give my regular houseplants a healthier mix. It’s a simple additive, but it makes such a difference for root health and overall growth. ✅ Why I love it: -Creates the perfect chunky, airy soil mix -Excellent drainage and water flow -Organic coconut = clean and natural -Works for every type of plant I own -Easy way to keep plants happy and thriving ⚠️ Cons: -Honestly none — I’ll keep adding this to every mix I make! If you like customizing your plant soil, this is a must-have. It’s become one of my go-to additives, and I’ll definitely be buying more. 🌱

Chipper chips
My go to coco chips. They are a good quality and cost. I am limited to the number of plants, so I need the best soil components. Riare chips help my soil substrate give my plants a sold foundation.

Great multi use!
Great quality coco chips! Used for my orchids and for a tortoise terrarium! The plants love it and so does the tortoise! Took some time to rehydrate but once it absorbed the water it was good to go!

Must- have for healthy roots
I have ordered the 4 brick selection a few times now. I got into plants several years ago and over time have amassed around 200 indoor houseplants (I later downsized to around 80 because that’s crazy!) Anyway, when I first started my hobby I went straight for the miracle grow dirt because I didn’t know not to use just potting soil. The more I got into “fancy plants” like expensive alocasias and what not, the more I learned about different mediums and pest control. I went from potting soil to potting soil with perlite, then to leca, and recently to a mix of this stuff, giant perlite and worm castings. I know there are other mixes people use but so far this has worked for me. Being soiled, it cuts down on pests especially fungus gnats since they have nothing to lay their eggs in. It helps keep the roots moist but not so much that they rot and allows airflow to the roots as well. I feel like the mixtures I use create a healthier more natural environment to which the plants normally grow and am seeing great results! When I initially ordered the bricks I tried breaking them up by hand and that was a disaster. They are compacted way to tight to just break up. I found that placing them in a big tub and moistening them with water makes them easy to break up and mix with the perlite. Don’t over soak it! Just give it enough to allow the bricks to soak it up without leaving puddles in the tub. One thing about spikes medium though is you will have to fertilize regularly since there is no dirt to provide nutrients. Happy planting!
