Amazing - never going back to a roller
Love these paint pads! Really easy to use, they are fantastic at getting a quick and even paint job, they aren't paint hungry and don't need much pressure to apply paint. I didn't get one drip as I painted two coats in one room. They are made up of thousands of little bristles which is how they work so well, a lot of the cheaper pads are just solid sponge pads, these will flatten and become less effective over time and will drip and not apply paint so well. They take a long time to clean but totally worth it. They don't seem to go close around plug and light switch plates for me, the plastic overhangs the bristles too much, but to be honest, I much rather using a small brush in the corners, and around plates and boarders anyway!

Makes cutting in easier
Used for wall painting upto ceiling line and cutting in. For the most part leaves a great finish and works well. You just need to have a play with it first to get your technique right. Although it looks like cheep plastic it holds well and does what it is supposed to.Easy to clean with water based paints - just be aware that water can find its way around the pad and behind the plastic. Just needs shaking and drying.Use is easy but have a practice on your walls first to build up a style and a way that works for you.Value for money - great. Does what I needed it to do.

Paint pad
The Paint pad was very easy to use, it's very self explanatory. The little pads for corners and skirting boards worked really well but it takes a few tries to get it right. The first few times you might get paint on the skirting boards if you're a first time painter (like me).Do watch out for leaks and spills, as you push the pads some paint might collect at the edges and leave some streaky /leaky marks on the wall. The big pad on the other hand was a bit of a disappointment, i still prefer a good old roller to do the bigger parts of the walls. It might have been due to the consistency of the paint or the material of plaster on the walls but the roller was much quicker and less patchy than the big pad.

Great painting pad kit for the DIYer
PROS.Great paint pad set. The blue handles feel a bit flimsy on opening, BUT Don't be put off by this... it allows flex in the surface your painting. They grip so well when using, there's no slip like some others, even at clean up they grip well when wet. The pad holds a good amount of paint and the bristles spread well and even. The larger pad finished 2 coats of a large box room in no time. The tip started to lift ( nothing to be alarmed by), but I blame my learning of the pad as I'm no painter or decorator...not the pad! Will easily paint a 2 bed house with one set.CONS.I would recommend the manufacturers trying to adapt a handle attachment for ceilings. Maybe a corner pad too ?A touch pricey, but worth the money.TIPS.use a good quality paint for the best results. Try to keep you applications evenly pressured and try not going back over areas as it dries.

They're not
I thought I'd give these a try because, generally, I like using paint pads. I usually use the square/rectangular ones that accept a plastic handle being slid onto the back of them. These are definitely not the world's best paint pads. Maybe I should have studied the advert closer before buying, or maybe I should have read some of the detailed reviews, so it's my own fault that I didn't realise that these are essentially single-use, unless you're really, really good at cleaning paint pads.I am really good at cleaning paint pads, so I did manage to get a second use out of the big pad, before it crumbled apart at the edges, the material fraying away and leaving the plastic of the handle to touch the paint in the tray (when reloading the pad) and the wall (when trying to apply the paint). That left streaks and gouges in the paint job. Much frustration. I ended up getting a brush out to touch up. Defeated the object of having paint pads. The shape of the pads, with the pointy bit, is supposed to help gtting paint into corners. I'm guessing that's supposed to allow you to do away with cutting in. But it doesn't, because the shape of the pads means you can't actually get the paint right into the corners, so you do have to get a brush out and do that cutting in anyway. And the pointy bit is the first bit to start fraying.I won't be buying again and I won't be recommending these pads to anyone. Wasted my time and money.Oh, wait. The tray's alright.

Great if you’re Tom Cruise
I’ve used paint pads. While I don’t use them for applying colour (i prefer the look of a roller effect) I do use them for the 50/50 and white coat. I’ve always found it a quick and clean way to get paint in the wall.I’d always use the big store brands with a handle....and maybe this is where I’m having issues. I don’t have big hands, but when holding this I feel like Tom Cruise in the rock climbing sequence of mission impossible 2. If you apply any pressure you need a rock climbers grip to keep the thing in your hand because the thing is so small. It doesn’t apply paint to the wall particularly well and I ended up rollering in the end anyway. Waste of money.
