Works as it should
Worked perfect for what I needed it for: connecting my PS4 controller to my PS2. Was easy to pair. Great solution for those looking for a wireless solution to their PS2 gaming needs.

Works perfectly
So you're probably reading this because you're doing your consumer research, and asking "Why does it cost twice as much as the 8bitdo adapter that does the same thing?" Because the Brook supports pressure sensitive buttons. Sony never made a wireless Dual Shock 2, so using a Dual Shock 3 controller on your Playstation 2 is the only way to have that functionality with an OEM controller, and this adapter is the only way to make that happen. Shor and skinny: If you want to use a wireless Sony made controller with your PS2, you need one of these.

Best adapter so far
I’ve only tried two adapters so far, but this one works so well with my PS3 controller, it feels as if I’m playing with an original PS2 DualShock. I’ve also tried it with my PS4 controller, which works fine, but having the use of the analog face and shoulder buttons with the PS3 controller makes it so much better to play the racing games that don’t allow remapping to the triggers. My only complaint is that plugging in the PS3 controller to the adapter itself will not charge the controller. And because of the way the charging protocol works on the PS3 controller, I have to plug it into my computer to charge it. It also fits the design of the console and the memory cards so it blends right in. In my opinion, this a pretty premium product for the price.

Works great out of the box and easy to connect
I ordered this to connect a PS3 controller to my PS2. It worked great out of the box! I plugged it in and got it connected in about 30 seconds without problems. I haven’t had any issues with connectivity, lag, or dropped signals. I appreciate that it’s compatible with a bunch of different controllers. Great buy if you are looking for a plug and play adapter!

The best controller solution for the Playstation 1/2.
Primarily purchased for finally being able to use an Xbox controller on Playstation 1/2. I love the Playstation console, and games - but have always hated the Playstation Dualshock controller. Good luck finding an acceptable functioning PS2 Dualshock in 2022. The last Brook PS2 controller converter had issues connecting a wired Xbox controller - but this new version 2022 product has no such problems. It is also advertised to be compatible with nearly all USB controller solutions on the market. I have personally only tested and used the XB1 and Xbox Series Controllers with this adapter. I was most curious if these devices add any discernible input lag. I tested a wired Xbox Series controller and Xbox One controller on Playstation 2. I tested playing highly sensitive input games: Hot Shots Golf 4, DoDonPachi SaiDaiOuJou, Psyvariar 2, Outrun 2 Coast 2 Coast, and Ace Combat 4/5/Zero. Im happy to say I detected no noticeable input lag. Perfect shots on Hot Shots, and a few No Miss on DoDonPachi. Using the superior asymmetrical analog stick layout of the Xbox controller on the PS1/2 is the definitive controller solution for the console for my tastes but there are 2 points of interest to take note: 1. For the small amount of pressure sensitive button dependent games - its tough to gauge exactly how well this translates to other controllers. For example in Gran Turismo 4, the pressure sensitive buttons were used for gas and brake. Of course analog triggers were not implemented in the PS2 generation. When using an Xbox controller you can map gas and brake to the analog triggers. But the timing is finicky - it registers near maximum input with only a small fraction of a trigger pull. Long story short - the small amount of pressure sensitive button focused games dont translate as well as you would think to analog triggers of modern controllers. 2. The remap function of this adapter only allows you to remap one button at a time. In Ace Combat's case - PS1/2's R1 is set to Xbox's RB and R2 is set to RT. I needed both triggers and bumpers swapped when using an Xbox Controller - 4 different buttons. This device does not allow that many buttons to be remapped at one time as of the time of posting this review. I had to look into reprogramming controls with OPL - and thru that method I WAS able to swap both triggers and bumpers. Overall for my specific setup - this product is a dream come true. Finally having a massive amount of quality modern USB controllers compatible with the Playstation 1/2. No more being forced to use a crappy Dualshock controller ever again.

Be sure to order micro USB cables to go with this.
My first thoughts when getting the Wingman was that I had made a mistake as when I opened it the 'image' on the converter was a cheap sticker and the plastic felt cheap too. I bought for my PS2 SCPH-39001 and when I first plugged it in along with my PS5 controller the light on the converter didn't come on and I thought I had a DOA/scam product as I grabbed a PS4 controller and that didn't work either. Took a look at the listing and found a comment about connecting another USB micro to the adapters USB micro slot as it may not be getting enough power from the port. I did so from the USB port on my PS2 and it worked immediately with my PS5 and PS4 controllers. Word of caution, the mirco port on the Wingman is shallow so there is no solid 'click' or connection so the USB micro end feels a bit loose. I ordered a pair of these and with my version of the PS2 fat a pair of 6 inch micro cables will work to reach the port and hopefully be secure enough that normal play should be acceptable. Overall thoughts, I wish they just included a short micro cable for as pricey as one adapter is and as cheap of as it feels that would have made me feel a bit better about this purchase. However they do work and I have been enjoying playing my old PS2 games with modern Playstation controllers so I guess if you can stomach $80 for a pair of these plus another $10 for some cables it's a good investment.

Plug and play DS3 on PS2
Works flawlessly with a PS2 and a Dual Shock 3. The pressure sensitive buttons DO WORK as well as the rumble. The one thing I did not know til it arrived was that the unit gets power from the rumble fuse on ps2's, if your rumble fuse is burnt out on your ps2 you need to power the unit with a USB cable that you can plug in using the ps2's USB ports. Not a big deal just something I didn't see any reviews mention. Other than that the unit works flawless with zero need to configure anything. It's truly plug and play! Highly recommend!

Here today, gone tomorrow... Arrived today, and plugged it into my playstation 2. Paired with my xbox series x controller using the button on the device, and the one on the controller, and it paired within seconds. I started up final fantasy xii and was able to play the game for about 5 minutes before the connection was lost, it reconnected a couple of seconds later, and then after about another minute, it lost connection again. At this point I was not able to get it to reconnect with the controller. I tried pairing with a different xbox controller and even tried the age old pull it out and blow on the connections but still nothing. So after having the item for less than an hour I found myself printing out a returns label. It cost £40, its worth £0. It is not just an annoying drop out issue that you can live with, it is a time to plug in a wired controller so I can at least save and quit the game issue. And for those wondering it is not a distant issue, as I was sitting in the chair I use while playing the playstation using its wired controller so I was less than 6 feet from the playstation and it had clear line of sight. I'm still looking for one of these things that actually works, if I find one and I remember I'll update this review with its name etc. If you read this and still buy one of these I hope I just got a bad one.

Unfortunately, it is not comparable to the Retro 8bit product. The connection drops some times, and this is annoying because it is unstable. Tried the XBOX ONE, Series, PS4, and PS5, and the same situation.
