Used these to create imprinted concrete wall with faux stone look
I added a faux rough limestone finish to the exposed concrete foundation of my house. These are meant to make fake stones, but I trimmed off the sides of the mold and added a duct tape handle to turn these into a stamp for concrete. I couldn't find this look in the flexible molds. I drilled two tiny holes in the face of the mold to release the suction of the fresh concrete on the wall. Before adding the concrete a put on a scratch coat of rough concrete on top of a fresh brushing of Quikcrete concrete adhesive - the kind that looks like white glue. I then mixed Type S mortar mix with TruPac X additive and Davis colorant to make mortar that looked like limestone and would hold together. I troweled this mortar onto the hardened stratch coat. I sprayed this mold with water and pressed into to the concrete. I had to touch up the surface with a small trowel, but it made a good look. I used a plastic roller designed to make a clean mortar line between the block. I also liked that this product came from a Ukranian company during Russian assault. I was happy to give them the income.
