Sturdy glass and makes great Mead and Wine! I have used these for 5 or 6 batches of mead and plum wine and they are easy to handle, easy to clean, and thanks to their short, wide stature, easy to store out of the way!

I am very impressed for the price. Set was shipped in thick foam top and bottom with thinner foam wrapping in the middle, but enough air between the box and the glass to be pretty safe. My kit included: 2 wide mouth fermenter bottles 2 heavy duty lids 4 silicone lid gaskets 4 silicone airlock grommets with tethered stoppers 3 three-piece airlocks 2 cute wooden "chalk" boards with twine 1 white marker (erasable? Haven't tried it) Bottles are think glass with a punt bottom, so lees will be deeper around the outside and more shallow in the middle. The liquid scale on the bottle is only useful for less than a gallon, but may be useful occasionally. Not sure about accuracy, though. The lids are very sturdy and seal tight with the gaskets. They will not buckle from pressure, and should not crack easily as they are have enough flex to withstand some abuse. The airlocks are standard, large size three piece locks, for 8mm stopper/lid holes. I have bought high end Italian glass carboys from brew supply stores that came with nothing except a flimsy box. This set of 2 complete fermenters with extra parts cost about the same as a single 1 gallon Italian carboy that I have. And, the quality seems pretty equal. The only thing that could end up bringing down my rating would be if replacement gaskets and grommets cannot be found. Time will tell if they retain any aromas/flavours that could potentially affect subsequent ferments. The grommets could probably be replaced with standard bucket grommets, but the lid gaskets could be difficult to find alternatives for. Other than that, these 1 gal fermenters are perfect for small batches, or for racking larger batches down to 1 gallon secondaries.

Great jar/carboy! Just used for a 1 gallon batch of mead. Works great. The small base and tall size fits great in my brewing area.

The product is great. This is my second purchase. The second purchase, they changed carriers to the Post Office. They did not deliver, it wouldn't fit in my mailbox. So I had to go out of my way down to the Post Office to receive it.

These are very high-quality glass jars, and I got them for fermenting vegetables at home. The weight of the glass that they are made from feels substantial - I have no worries about durability whatsoever. Value for the price felt good, especially considering the included airlocks, which are a must for fermentation. Overall very happy with these and I use them all the time.

Works as it should, comes with everything you’d need to ferment and being tall and skinny it takes up less space on the floor than a 1 gallon carboy. Lid seals well and has held up for multiple brews.

Does the job, comes with spare gaskets and lid plugs too! The whiteboard is a cute and nice touch as well

Great, large sized jars and the airlocks work fantastically. Used for Fermented foods (Kimchi, sauerkraut) as well as vinegar fermenting.

One broke with boiling water. Now they scare me to use.
