Great little allotment whizzer. I was so please with it I went out a brought another battery, so I can use it longer. Light, adjustable and easy to use. I don't feel ripped off , it was worth buying a branded strimmer.

For a cordless strimmer this is very good. Not quite as powerful as the mains powered version (I have both) but it does a decent job and cuts through thistles, etc. Great for allotments or where you don't have power and you don't want to go down the petrol engine route. It's light and collapsible so easy to take anywhere. I've got a number of Ryobi garden/power tools and have never had an issue with any of them. Recommended.

These are never going to match the power of any mains or 2-stroke powered strimmers, but surprisingly good all the same. Already have a few other garden tools that share this battery, so I thought I'd try out this one. Easily assembled, which is a nice change. I do not like plastic blade strimmers, as they simply don't have the versatility of a line strimmer. This is powerful enough for my needs, and made light work of tall grass and thick weeds around trees and other obstacles that the mower can't get close enough to cut. The 2ah battery was okay, but after about 15 mins I had to switch it out for one of my spare batteries. The auto line feed worked very well, although I have no idea how much line it used in the time it was running. It's nicely weighted, so didn't put too much strain on my arms and shoulders, which is the main reason why I wanted an alternative to my big Stihl FS38. This is a direct replacement for my usual strimmer, and was never going to be, but it does fill a gap in my tool preference for quick & light duties. Can only give a maximum of 4 starts, as Ryobi puke green is a terrible choice for garden equipment. The strimmer was absolutely filthy by the time I finished, and even after cleaning, it still looks dirty due to that weird colour. Also, my mains powered strimmer stands up by itself when you put it down, which is something Ryobi can't manage to design, so it's not suitable for those with a bad back.

Like all Ryobi equipment so far, this works far better than any previous strimmers. It is robust, well-built, easy to use and effective. It runs for far longer on a full charge than one would be likely to need, and in any event the battery charges quickly. The blue strimmer line is a slightly larger gauge than most in this price range, and not so prone to breaking or snagging inside the spool (so irritating!). The only slight minus point is that first assembly of the components is a bit of a fiddle, especially the retaining screw for the guard. At one time, when there were written instructions with things, it would have been far easier. In exasperation I gave up on the so-called simple pictograms and found my own way. Once assembled, it’s fine.

Great strimmer. Highly recommend. Hubby said it was a bit of a faff putting it together but figured it out. Cord didn;t break once when using...possibly due to auto feed...

I have purchased a number of Ryobi products in the fast and found them to be cheap but adequate. While this product is perfectly usable and has quite a nice balance I am giving it a low rating because I have low confidence that it will make it through the summer. It is easy to assemble and works without a problem but right from the moment of taking it out of the box, assembling it and using it for the first time the overall impression is that it is really flimsy and is not going to last long. I'm going to continue using it and will modify my review if it defies my expectations and is still in one piece at the end of the summer.
