Very good
We live on a hilltop in Cornwall where winds can be rather enthusiastic so a problem with any extractor fan is the amount of wind that blows in. Fitting a flap on the outlet helps, espacially with a lump of bl;ue tac to give it some weight but this fan is a game changer. The shutters are really very effective. They open and closes automatically a few seconds after turning the fan on and close themselves afterwards. Are they entirely windproof? No but they are so much better than our previous "no shutter" fan. The fan itself is very effective and doesn't use much electricity so I feel this is money well spent

Good quality exhaust fan
Replace my old vent-axia. No fancy electronics. Just a simple exhaust fan for 1/4 the price.

Perfect Replacement
After 12 years my extractor fan needed to be replaced and had to be 6"/150mm. Found this on Amazon and unbelievably turned out to be exact fan that I had What a stroke of luck, made fitting an absolute doddle, secured by silicone, same previous unit as didn't want to drill my porcelain tiles incase a replacement fan had different locating holes Great efficient fan and will buy again if needed but if as good as last one, probably won't need to, it's pretty quiet and noise only increases when shutters open and air is sucked through which is understandable I can definitely recommend this unit, 👍

Efficient extractor
This replaced an older model, which was beginning to get noisy. Unfortunately, the fixing holes were located slightly differently, which required some filing of holes to line up rather than drill more holes into ceramic tiles. The shutters open sooner than the previous model and also close effectively. However, they are not so air tight and in strong winds the unit can emit a slight howl as the air whistles through it. Also, very strong winds can stop the fan, but this is a rare occurrence. It is very effective and extracts the warm humid air from the shower room where it is located. The shutter unit can be easily removed for cleaning .The unit was well packed and promptly delivered from the supplier.

Review for bodgers 🔨😄
I bought this to replace on old Vortice kitchen fan which was working ok but had broken louvres so was a bit draughty and cold in winter. Note the six inch size refers to the diameter of the fan, not the overall width of the unit. This came simply boxed with basic instructions but no screws or fixings. Removing the old fan was simple and this slotted right into place. The issue I had was the existing mains cable was in the wrong place, so I had to drill through the back of the new unit to manoeuvre it into place. Not that difficult and once done it was then just a question of connecting two wires, very easy but obviously check with a qualified person if unsure. I then just had to screw the main unit to the wall, mount the cover and job done. Works fine, quiet but not totally silent, and I like the fact that it has a grill to protect the shutters. It hasn’t totally cut down the draught (I will look at a new cowling setup too) but it is a marked improvement and the cord is nice and long too. The build quality doesn’t look as good as my old Vortice ditto the rather flimsy internal wiring however it is quite smart in appearance and works ok so I’m sure it will fine for most domestic use.

Not 150mm fan but a 140mm fan being marketed as 150mm.
Bought this to replace a 40 year old expelaire. Build quality seems good. It was easy to fit and wiring easy to connect although no screws or plugs supplied. Two stars off for the following reasons. 1 star off for it being quite noisy. 1 star offf because this is a 140mm fan being marketed as a 150mm fan. Blades are less than 140mm across with the ducting spigot onle 141 diameter. This fan is marketed as a 150mm unit and that is what I would expect, the ducting spigot to be at least 149mm so as to fit into a 150mm duct. If blades had been larger then fan could revolve more slowly resulting in same airflow with slightly less noise. I have fitted the fan because at the moment it is a means to an end whilst waiting for kitchen improvements to be carried out but because of the noise and the size I would not buy again Upon further use (one evening), realised that it is far too noisy. Checked the noise level, turns out that it is 67 DECIBELS at a distance of 3 mtrs. Obtained a return from Amazon and I have to pay returns postage cost of almost £3.00 for something that is not fit for purpose. Further 2 stars off. Do not buy, search for alternative. Bought and fitted a Manrose 150mm pull cord extractor today. This has a true 150mm fan duct and produces less than half the volume of noise. Infinitely better than Airvent.

Very good quality at very affordable price.
More than happy with this very nice well made fan. I had initially purchased a similar fan from Wicks which was the same price as this fan. Didn't realise until I opened the box that it didn't have the one way shutter valves or butterfly wings inside the fan body. This would mean the wind would blow straight through the exposed blades and directly into the house leaving an undated draft and dust from outside. This fan had a pleasant surprise in store when I opened it and found it to be far better made and had a pull cord twice as long which is important for me. The fan had a really clever almost hydraulic feature to it when you turn it on the luvre flaps which are in the fixed closed position slowly open up to allow the air to flow through. It takes roughly 45 seconds to fully open and it slowly closed again when turned off to lock the flaps in place so the wind doesn't make them rattle and chatter all the time. It's very well thought out and constructed fan at a very reasonable price.
