I got two of these, each from a different brand. My mom uses this to store her night guard (we both have TMJ). It is a little bit snug because the opening is flat, but it doesn't affect the function.PROS:- easy to clean + comes with kit- My night guard is soft, but if you're putting your retainers in here it's nicer than the traditional plastic case because it doesn't rattle around- not loose; won't fall outCONS:- none noted

If you must have the maximum protection for your retainer (e.g., preventing high impact or heavy compression, etc.), do get a thick & hard case. This is effective to keep a retainer clean...and some modest protection.
