It fits on the underside of the lid. There is a drinking spout on the top.

Can you drink without the straw?

Yes. I never use the straw. I prefer drinking without the straw.

Will the 24oz bottle fit in a bike bottle cage?

Not sure, I know it fits in my car cup holders.
