Fujitsu fi-8170 Document Scanner High Speed Scanner, LAN Connectivity, Good Capacity Daily Volume 10,000 Sheets

This is the third scanner I've purchased because this little baby is just that good. In fact, it's better than our office's 5-foot tall scanner. It's very fast, scans front and back and is plug and play. It also rarely jams. More than worth the money.

This has been the BEST scanner I've ever owned. In my business ess I scan thousands of tickets weekly. Super simple, quick and does not get jammed up!!

This is the second scanner I've purchased from this manufacturer, this second one being the "latest top of line model" for the purpose we needed it for, scanning sports cards for inventory and listings the first was model down from this one and didn't function how it was promoted. This one Brand new out of the box would not even power on at first. Watched tons of videos and did everything that was recommended that we could find. Ultimately just playing with the power cord where it plugged into unit and pressing power button at same time got it to turn on. We reluctantly chalked that up to maybe was just little glitchy out the box, but the. Once powered on just gave white screen and never gave anythjng else. Computer was connected and could see it. The program and driver specific to product couldn't see it so wasn't able to use it thru it's own software, but could press scan on the windows scanner app and get it to actually pull paper thru scanner and "scan it but never provided actual image. All files created using it would just be white blank pictures. Requested refund and packed it back up to ship back. Best part is as a business we were relying on this items arrival to help us catch up on backlog of inventory and now not only do we not have it, but we are out the almost $1k waiting for refund that we will get once item is received. We don't want to be out another almost $1k so can't even order another and get the, what was rather long, shipping time started and give it another shot at actually working.

I upgraded from the Fujitsu fi-6170z to the fi- 8170. The 6170 was no longer compatible with Windows 11 and I fought with it for days to get the right software driver combination to get it to work. Finally broke down and purchased the 8170. Wow, this unit is much faster scanning than the 6170. It came with a DVD with drivers and software, however, my computer doesn’t have a DVD reader. I downloaded the software easily from the website installed the software and the 8170 worked like a charm with no issues. Only been using for a week, but I was so excited that it worked as it should immediately. Color scans, duplex, multiple pages, multiple file formats to scan to. The higher the resolution the lower it will scan, but I normally scan at 300 DPI and it is fast. Will be purchasing another for our other pc.

Just got my new scanner and I'm already impressed! Setup was a breeze, and it's been working like a charm. What really stood out, though, was the customer service. Rob was super helpful and patient with all my questions. It's rare to find such great support these days. Definitely recommend buying from 10k Technologies, reliable device and excellent assistance!

This product is highly touted as a great product for scanning sports trading cards. I just picked up and have to admit it is great for cards in top loaders and terrible for sleeved cards. Teh scanner pulls the sleeves off of cards and after a while this became frustrating. I looked up if this was able to scan cards with no top loader or sleeve and in many areas saw that you can. So i then scanned an additional 200 plus cards. I did this until i noticed on the scanned pics of cards that there was a white seam going down some cards. I then looked at a card , then more cards, and even more before finding that the scanner had damager over 200 cards putting two wheel lines down each card essentially ruining $350-$500 in card values. I contacted fujitsu on this and they will create a case number and even went as far as saying they highly recommend only using top loaders and sleeves but nowhere do they mention that you should not scan the bare card or any concerns. I only went this route because i was having sleeves pulled off the cards and getting stuck or crinkled up when going through the scanner. This was an option that I saw was a possibility through doing online research both with ricoh and companies that promote this product. Fujitsu initially tried passing the blame as I am sure this seller will do but they changed their tune during the discussion. I can tell you that this seller certainly does not have this mentioned and this is not a common sense problem.

When I tried to register the Fujitsu/Ricoh fi-1870, I was told that I could not. The serial number of the device I received indicated it was supposed to be sold in Europe, Middle East or Asia (EMEA region). They told me that this vendor was know to do this, making it a 'grey market' vendor. Wonderful scanner, from all the reviews and initial use, and a great price on Prime Day, but if there is ever a problem, no repairs are available in the US or Canada.

Front buttons are in Chinese and can't be changed. I was expecting English.
