Can I use this with a MAC? If not, does anyone have a recommendation?

The Singer C7250 is a computerized or electronic machine, but it is not an embroidery machine and does not connect to a PC. It is a stand alone electronic/computerized sewing machine.

can the Singer C7250 machine sew upholstery fabric and/or how many layers of denim can it sew at one time?

With the proper machine settings and needle most home machines can sew on medium weight upholstery fabrics. Please be aware that if you sew on multiple layers that are too thick and it raises the presser foot too high (higher than the normal presser foot up position), the top tension will be disengaged and the machine will not make a proper stitch (ma jam machine).
