Anyone try this Transcend 2TB USB drive to connect to their TV and play movie files? Does it still heat up a lot just playing a 2-hour movie file?

While not on a TV, I have it plugged into a micro PC and it is warm just idling. I have a similar one from a different brand with the same controller and NAND memory but it is plastic rather than metal. It shows the same temperature.

Can it store file greater than 4GB? Other USBs have the limit of 4GB. I have to use an external hard drive if I want to save those larger than 4GBfile

If it is formatted exFAT, NTFS or any other current file systems it can take larger files. FAT32 has this 4GB limitation.
