I'm using it on a basic bedslinger, nothing fancy. It's done what's promised for a year with no lockups, crashes, etc. Wifi on it works fine but I'm not too far from the AP/router or have tons of wifi traffic. Setup went fine with instructions on Utube.

I purchased this to run Octoprint for my SV06. Follow the instructions on GitHub and it works like a charm with an SV06. This was my first foray into Linux, but was very easy with BigTreeTech's installation instructions. They only issue I had was finding the correct port for running a camera, but once I googled how to find your port with terminal, all was golden. This is running with a 32GB sd card and HDMI to mini-hdmi cable plugged into my printer and is a great alternative to Raspberry PIs.I've also had no issues loading Kiauh on it in preparation for Klipper, using the Mac iOS terminal application to connect to it once you've loaded the correct Debian image per BTT instructions. The install is flawless. I'm glad I purchased!

If you want a RPi for running 3D printers using Klipper, but don't want to wait for them to come back in stock, or to shell out $70-$130 USD, this is the best alternative in my opinion.With that said, you have to use BTT's OS on this, so using it for other stuff is a little limited (though still technically possible).

Very reliable, get this without thinking twice!

I ordered one of these a couple days ago- showed up- missing parts as well as the manual/welcome card that they are supposed to come with- most importantly it was missing the red power connector for the 5v Input. Literally THE way to power and program these before installing them. So I returned it and requested a replacement. That one shows up the same- but this time with a filthy duck in there (I mean FILTHY, covered in black stuff) and it is ALSO missing the key component (red 5v power jumper bridge cap) . All the pictures show it on sellers pictures. Customer pictures show it, online shows it- and a gaggle of people on the BTT forum confirmed that it is supposed to come with one as its KEY to even getting it running- leading me to believe these items were returned and sent out again- further I confirmed that this item doesn't work, no connection no nothing. I Swapped over micro sd and did a whole reinstallation on a Pi and another device with no issue just to sanity check and this BTT PI v1.2 is dead. I see the other reviews saying the same thing multiple times- I'm going to say they were correct and buying this item is a silicone lottery- new working item? Or just slap a stamp on the return bin and send em out again- maybe theyll work the 2nd go around. Suspect These items are being shipping and returned in a circle. They couldn't even bother making sure all the hardware was in the package before sending it out!? 2x in a row. Bonus For the Amazon format-Value for money- poor. It has cost me days of machines down now instead of just going with a Pi, memory capacity Is pointless I guess now- the extra functionality of added ports drew me in as its a great idea! Unfortunately I was able to utilize only 0 out of them. 2x in a row. And I didn't hear a noise from it. It was dead silent.

In 2025, the BTT Pi 1.2 is outdated and underperforms compared to other options on the market like the Pi 4 - which sells for a whopping $35.99. Heck, you can find the same chip (H616) in a $19 Orange Pi Zero.BUT i still love it. Why? It has several creature comforts that make life for Printer Builders so much easier- doubly so if you are bought fully into the Bigtreetech Ecosystem.These are:1. Onboard 24V in. It removes the need for a secondary 5V PSU, reduces wiring complication, harness size, cable routing issues, and failure points as a result.2. Plenty of USB ports3. Sufficient compute power to run a camera alongside Klipper4. Easy integration with the TFT35 ŚPI - a cheap, excellent BTT touch screen.Now onto the cons-1. As always, BigTreeTech’s documentation is garbage and setup requires searching through lots of forum posts.2. This PI requires active cooling if your electronics enclosure is not well insulated against high chamber temps- especially when printing engineered materials. Thankfully, there are lots of mounts for 3010 and 4010 fans that you can print.3. It’s a PI made for 3D printers, so it doesn’t do other raspberry pi things particularly easily. Keep this in mind.All in all, once configured, the BTT pi 1.2 is a rock solid option for anyone planning to run a basic Klipper instance.If you are trying to run Kalico and use a lot of advanced computational functions, get the Pi 2.

Can't beat the price. It's not exactly a RasPI clone, but can do most of the same things. From the BTT Github, install the full image if you want to use Klipper. I tried to use the minimal image first and some of the dependencies were giving me all sorts of cascading issues (and I'm an IT guy who knows his way around Linux distros).

I've had this for almost a year and never has it failed me! The controller that I had before this would crash regularly. I am probably running it harder than it was designed for but it is handling it like a champ! I would definitely buy again even for other purposes like as a media server
