Their spark is instantly reignited and sets off a creative collaboration that will make them superstars. It is the 90s, and anything is possible. Excellent
Very nice book

An apt title for a moving, strong book.
I am generally not a fan of video games, or even like technology interfering too much into fiction. But this was a great read. The characters are believable, and I find the book believable, albeit a bit sad :(I would definitely recommend reading this.

Great story, good characters, and allllllll that video game lore
Great story. Intriguing interpersonal conflicts. Finely-etched characters....I *know* these people. And, of course, for people who love such things, lots and lots of video game lore.Zevin's fictional characters are as diverse as the factual America; my only criticism of Zevin's work is that she wears her characters' diversity on her sleeve. That is to say, the characters would still have been strong (arguably more so) if Zevin had chosen to be subtle with their diversity. Let the storytelling do the storytelling. Political undercurrents are more intriguing, more entertaining, and more artistically satisfying than political rallies.I will read this novel again after a few years, and I will keep an eye out for Zevin's next work.

Good book that is missing โsomethingโ
I liked it. But all the while couldnโt help feeling that it misses something. Canโt put a finger on it (maybe I am not into games so failed to relateโฆ). It still is a good light read though. Loved Sam, Sadie & their chemistry.

Amazing read!
This book had me enthralled from the first page till the last. Cannot recommend this enough! I am not a gamer and yet found myself lost in the world of gaming and in the complicated yet beautiful relationships in the book.

Touching and Fabulous story
As a female gamer who grew up in the same era as the main characters this book was fabulously nostalgic in its coverage of the games and gaming culture of that time. The characters are excellent and they tell a beautiful story of the trials of trauma, friendship, following your passion and identity and how these things shift and change. I especially liked the treatment of a platonic but very deep friendship as this is so rarely covered in novels or media. For me the main characters definitely come across as neurodiverse and their quirks are treated with an openness and without judgement (even if the characters themselves sometimes do judge their own quirks which is to be expected as they navigate the world). Loved this book and ended up reading it slowly to extend my time with these characters.

Probably the best book I've read in decades
This book made me cry and get angry at people I don't know for the first time since high school. 10/10 read for any millenial who grew up with vidya and would like 400 pages of nostalgia hit.

I love the spray painted edges. Have not finished the book yet but itโs is very easy to read and I resonate with the characters so far.
