I got this one because the Dell Touchscreen that I've had for 5 years, the power plug became loose where you plug it into the laptop. It would not stay in the hole. Would come out. Anyhow, I also wanted a "power" button on top of my laptop where all the other keys are, instead of on the side (like my Dell has it). Upon days of research, I came across the Acer Aspire 5 and compared it to other laptops and decided to get it. It is the best decision I made for myself! The cost was great. Half the price of my Dell. And it's fast! My Dell was slow. Always buffered during movies and tv shows. I do not know the "computer lingo" or jargin to describe the specs on it, but as a lay person who has used computers since the '90's, it loads quickly. And the graphics are clear when you watch a video or a movie. I do a lot of streaming online and have no problems with it. The sound is okay. But I use headphones anyways and it is good. The battery life is fantastic! I can use this for 6 hours on the battery without stressing to plug it in. And someone asked if the keys are backlit, yes, when you tap a key all of them light up while you are typing. The light goes off a second after you finish typing. Which I like because it gets too warm when they stay on. So far so good. I've only had this Acer for a month and hope it lasts a few years!

Item arrived quickly and as described. Pretty fast and good battery life. I like it so far. Disappointed it didn't come with a product key for anything so I'm right back to spending money on Microsoft outlook, word and excel.

Poor performance, graphics card can’t even support low end games. Bad sound. Very disappointed with this laptop. Do not recommend.

Worked great for our needs. A little bit of bloatware (shortcuts to gaming sites and other gaming apps) that I deleted, but otherwise, setup was quick and easy and computer ran just as expected.

Worth every penny! Quick start-up. Saves info and progress, if you need to bail. Great working with AI mode. Screen is great size, and battery life is exceptional!

Purchased and received from Amazon in December 2024 as a present for a birthday in late January 2025. Laptop was opened and powered up in January. Seemed to operate as it should. In early February (return/replace date was 31 January - of course it was - ha) the lap top would immediately shut down (even when the battery was fully charged - according to system power settings) when the AC power cord was removed from the laptop or from an AC wall outlet (even when the AC cord was still plugged into the laptop). But, when connected to AC, it still works just as well as was originally expected. (Really like the build [the 14" seems sturdier than most 15" laptops] and meets my needs). It appears there is a physical/mechanical problem with the AC power input port on the laptop - will not automatically switch to battery when AC or the AC power cord is removed. I have run restore point settings as well as reboot options with negative results. So, it appears that the problem is not a program problem, but rather a physical/mechanical problem at the AC input port (or connection to the battery). I really like the laptop, but will have to put up with the AC problem for the time being. And, depending on repair cost will also consider a portable (battery) power source to provide power for an hour or two until an AC source can be available.
