So, is the oxygen in these Red Cross branded ones any more "pure" than regular Boost Ox cans?

The oxygen purity for this product is 98%. Our Boost Oxygen branded canisters have an oxygen purity of 95%.

Can you take these on planes?

No you can not. You can not take any canned air on the plane in carry on or in checked baggage.

When I press the button will it automatically stop once a "dose" is delivered or do I control the lenght of time?

Oxygen will continue to dispense however long the trigger is being held for. We recommend taking a deep breath and holding the trigger down at the same time. Once you are done inhaling, let go of the trigger and it will stop the flow of the oxygen. We hope you find this information helpful. From, The Boost Team
